दो ट्रेनों की टक्कर में 13 की मौत, 50 से अधिक घायल; 5 कोच पटरी से उतरे

आंध्रप्रदेश के विजयनगरम जिले में रविवार की शाम दो ट्रेनें टकरा गईं। इस हादसे में 9 यात्रियों की मौत हो गई थी, जबकि सोमवार सुबह मृतकों का आंकड़ा बढ़कर 13 हो गया हादसे में 50 यात्री घायल हैं। हादसा विजयनगरम जिले में अलमांडा-कंकटपल्ली के बीच हुआ।

रेलवे के मुताबिक, विशाखापट्टनम-पलासा पैसेंजर ट्रेन को विशाखापट्टनम-रायगड़ा पैसेंजर ट्रेन ने पीछे से टक्कर मार दी। ईस्ट कोस्ट रेलवे के CPRO विश्वजीत साहू ने बताया, हादसा मानवीय भूल के चलते हुआ। पीछे से आ रही विशाखापत्तनम-रायगड़ा पैसेंजर ट्रेन के ड्राइवर ने सिग्नल को ओवरशूट किया, जिससे यह टक्कर हुई।

वाल्टेयर डिवीजन के रेलवे मैनेजर सौरभ प्रसाद ने बताया, इस टक्कर से दोनों ट्रेन के पांच डिब्बे पटरी से उतर गए। इनमें से तीन कोच आगे की ट्रेन के थे और दो कोच पीछे आ रही ट्रेन के थे।

रेलवे ने आपात नंबर जारी किए ईस्ट कोस्ट रेलवे ने आपात नंबर जारी किए हैं। इनमें भुवनेश्वर- 0674-2301625, 2301525, 2303069 और वाल्टेयर डिवीजन- 0891- 2885914 हैं।

केंद्र सरकार ने 10 लाख रुपए मुआवजे का ऐलान किया
रेल मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने बताया, केंद्र सरकार ने मृतकों के परिजनों को 10 लाख रुपए, घायलों को 2 लाख और मामूली चोट लगने पर 50 हजार रुपए मुआवजे का ऐलान किया है।

आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री वाईएस जगन मोहन रेड्डी ने अधिकारियों को राज्य के मृतकों के परिजनों को 10-10 लाख रुपये और घायलों को 2-2 लाख रुपये की अनुग्रह राशि देने का निर्देश दिया।

12 ट्रेनें रद्द, 15 ट्रेनों का रूट डायवर्ट किया गया वाल्टेयर मंडल रेल प्रबंधक (DRM) ने बताया कि बचाव अभियान जारी है, सहायता और एम्बुलेंस के लिए स्थानीय प्रशासन और NDRF को सूचित किया गया है। दुर्घटना राहत ट्रेनें घटनास्थल पर पहुंच गई हैं। वहीं, मुख्यमंत्री कार्यालय ने बताया कि CM वाईएस जगनमोहन रेड्‌डी ने राहत कार्य के लिए सभी व्यवस्थाएं दुरुस्त करने को कहा है। मौके पर एम्बुलेंस और अन्य जरूरी सामान पहुंचा दिया गया है।

25 अक्टूबर: आगरा में पातालकोट एक्सप्रेस के 3 जनरल कोच पूरी तरह जल गए। इसमें कुल 13 लोग घायल हुए हैं। आग लगने के बाद कई यात्रियों ने ट्रेन से कूदकर जान बचाई। हादसा रेल मंडल में भांडई रेलवे स्टेशन के पास शाम 3.45 बजे हुआ। उस समय ट्रेन की स्पीड 70 से 80 किमी के बीच थी।

10 अक्टूबर: बिहार में दिल्ली से गुवाहाटी जा रही नॉर्थ-ईस्ट एक्सप्रेस (12506) हादसे का शिकार हो गई। ट्रेन की सभी 21 बोगियां पटरी से उतर गईं, जिनमें एसी-3 टियर की दो बोगियां पलट गईं। इस हादसे में 4 यात्रियों की मौत हुई, जिनमें दो पुरुष, मां और बेटी (8) शामिल हैं।

2 जून: ओडिशा में हुए ट्रेन हादसे में 275 लोगों की जान चली गई थी। जिस रूट पर हादसा हुआ, वहां गाड़ियों के बीच टक्कर रोकने वाला एंटी कोलिजन सिस्टम 'कवच' मौजूद नहीं था। मरने वालों के आंकड़ों को हिसाब से देखें तो, ये देश का तीसरा सबसे बड़ा रेल हादसा था।

रेल मंत्री ने एक्सीडेंट रोकने कवच सिस्टम लगाने की बात कही थी
रेल मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने मई 2022 में ट्रेन में लगने वाले कवच सिस्टम के बारे में बताया था। उन्होंने कहा था- 'कवच एक ऑटोमेटिक रेल प्रोटेक्शन की टेक्नोलॉजी है। इसमें ये होता है कि मान लीजिए दो ट्रेन गलती से एक ही ट्रैक पर आ गई तो उसके पास आने से पहले कवच ब्रेक ट्रेन को रोक देगी, जिससे एक्सीडेंट होने से बच जाएगा।' रेल मंत्री के इस ब्यान के बाद से ट्रेन डिरेल होने के कई मामले सामने आ चुके हैं।

ट्रायल के एक साल बाद सिर्फ 65 इंजनों में लगा कवच
मई 2022 में अश्विनी वैष्णव ने रेल हादसे रोकने के लिए इंजनों को सुरक्षा कवच पहनाने की घोषणा की थी। एक साल बाद भी 19 रेलवे जोन में से सिर्फ सिकंदराबाद में ही कवच लगाने की प्रक्रिया शुरू हुई है। देश में कुल 13,215 इलेक्ट्रिक इंजन हैं। इनमें सिर्फ 65 लोको इंजनों को ही कवच से लैस किया गया है। 2022-23 वित्तीय वर्ष में भारतीय रेलवे ने देशभर में कम-से-कम 5000 किलोमीटर रूट पर कवच लगाने का लक्ष्य रखा है।

13 killed, more than 50 injured in collision between two trains; 5 coaches derailed

Two trains collided in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday evening. 9 passengers had died in this accident, while on Monday morning the death toll increased to 13. 50 passengers were injured in the accident. The accident occurred between Alamanda-Kankatpally in Vizianagaram district.

According to the Railways, the Visakhapatnam-Palasa passenger train was hit from behind by the Visakhapatnam-Rayagada passenger train. East Coast Railway's CPRO Vishwajeet Sahu said, the accident happened due to human error. The driver of the Visakhapatnam-Rayagada passenger train coming from behind overshot the signal, which led to the collision.

Waltair Division Railway Manager Saurabh Prasad said, due to this collision, five coaches of both the trains derailed. Of these, three coaches were from the leading train and two coaches were from the trailing train.

Railways has issued emergency numbers. East Coast Railways has issued emergency numbers. These include Bhubaneswar- 0674-2301625, 2301525, 2303069 and Waltair Division- 0891- 2885914.

Central government announced compensation of Rs 10 lakh
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, the central government has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the families of the deceased, Rs 2 lakh to the injured and Rs 50 thousand in case of minor injuries.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed officials to give ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 2 lakh each to the injured in the state.

12 trains cancelled, 15 trains diverted Waltair Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) said rescue operations are underway, local administration and NDRF have been informed for assistance and ambulance. Accident relief trains have reached the spot. At the same time, the Chief Minister's Office said that CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy has asked to make all the arrangements for relief work. Ambulance and other essential items have been sent to the spot.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had told about the armor system to be installed in the train in May 2022. He had said- 'Kavach is a technology of automatic rail protection. What happens in this is that suppose two trains accidentally come on the same track, then the armor brake will stop the train before it comes near it, which will prevent an accident from happening. After this statement of the Railway Minister, many cases of train derailment have come to light.

After one year of trial, only 65 engines were fitted with armor.
In May 2022, Ashwini Vaishnav had announced to equip the engines with safety shields to prevent railway accidents. Even after a year, the process of installing armor has started only in Secunderabad out of 19 railway zones. There are a total of 13,215 electric locomotives in the country. Of these, only 65 loco engines have been equipped with armour. In the financial year 2022-23, Indian Railways has set a target of installing armor on at least 5000 km of routes across the country.
