जिसे बचाया उसी ने गड़ा दिए दांत। वास्तव में, पिछले साल दिसंबर महीने के अंत में, घर के पास ही दो कुत्तों ने एक पिल्ले पर हमला किया। पिल्ले को बचाने के लिए जोधाराम ने उसे हाथों में उठाया, जिससे पिल्ले ने हाथों पर ही दांत और नाखून लगा दिए। जोधाराम ने घर जाकर घाव को डेटॉल से धो लिया, लेकिन उसने उपचार नहीं कराया। करीब 2 महीने बाद, फरवरी महीने में, जोधाराम की तबीयत अचानक बिगड़ी। परिवार ने उन्हें अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया, जहाँ पता चला कि उन्हें रेबीज की बीमारी हो गई है।

पिता की जान जाते ही बेटी भी नहीं रही। इलाज के दौरान, जोधाराम की तबीयत बिगड़ने लगी और वह पानी देखते ही चीखने-चिल्लाने लगे। अंत में, तीन दिन पहले, उन्होंने दम तोड़ दिया। जब पिता की मौत की खबर सुनी तो 20 साल की बेटी सुरेखा ने भी जान गवाई।
