पाकिस्तान के पूर्व PM इमरान खान को 10 साल की जेल, Cipher मामले में कोर्ट ने सुनाई सजा 

पाकिस्तान के पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री इमरान खान और पाकिस्तान तहरीक-ए-इंसाफ पार्टी के नेता शाह महमूद कुरैशी को सायफर केस में 10 साल की सजा सुनाई गई है। मंगलवार को रावलपिंडी में स्पेशल कोर्ट के जज ने अदियाला जेल में इसका ऐलान किया। इमरान और कुरैशी की मौजूदगी में ही जज अबुल हसनत जुल्करनैन ने यह फैसला सुनाया। 

पिछले साल से ही केस की सुनवाई अदियाला जेल में चल रही है। सुनवाई के दौरान जज जुल्करनैन ने पीटीआई नेताओं से कहा कि उनके वकील अदालत में पेश नहीं हुए हैं और उन्हें सरकारी वकील दिए गए हैं। कोर्ट ने यह भी कहा कि कुरैशी और इमरान से धारा 342 के तहत सवाल पूछे गए थे। हालांकि, कुरैशी ने कहा कि उनके वकील मौजूद नहीं हैं तो वे अपना बयान नहीं दर्ज करा सकते हैं।

सायफर केस क्या है?
अप्रैल 2022 में सरकार गिरने के बाद इमरान की तरफ से लगातार दावा किया गया कि उनकी सरकार गिराने के लिए अमेरिका और उस वक्त के आर्मी चीफ जनरल कमर जावेद बाजवा ने साजिश रची। खान का आरोप है कि उन्हें इस साजिश की जानकारी अमेरिका में उस वक्त के पाकिस्तानी ऐंबैस्डर असद मजीद खान ने एक सीक्रेट लेटर के जरिए दी थी। डिप्लोमैटिक टर्म में इसी लेटर को सायफर कहा जाता है।

इसके अलावा खान का एक ऑडियो टेप भी वायरल हुआ था। इसमें इमरान, उस वक्त के विदेश मंत्री शाह महमूद कुरैशी और चीफ सेक्रेटरी आजम खान की आवाजें थीं। फोरेंसिक जांच में यह साबित हुआ कि ऑडियो सही है, इससे कोई छेड़छाड़ नहीं की गई थी। टेप में खान कुरैशी और आजम से कहते हैं- अब हम इस सायफर को रैलियों में दिखाकर इससे खेलेंगे।

Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan sentenced to 10 years in jail, court sentences him in Cipher case

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi have been sentenced to 10 years in prison in the Cypher case. On Tuesday, the judge of the Special Court in Rawalpindi announced this in Adiala Jail. Judge Abul Hasnat Zulkarnain gave this decision in the presence of Imran and Qureshi.

The hearing of the case is going on in Adiala jail since last year. During the hearing, Judge Zulqarnain told the PTI leaders that their lawyers had not appeared in the court and they had been given government lawyers. The court also said that Qureshi and Imran were asked questions under Section 342. However, Qureshi said that his lawyer was not present so he could not record his statement.

What is cipher case?
After the fall of the government in April 2022, Imran continuously claimed that America and the then Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa conspired to topple his government. Khan alleges that he was informed about this conspiracy by the then Pakistani Ambassador to America Asad Majeed Khan through a secret letter. In diplomatic terms this letter is called cipher.

Apart from this, an audio tape of Khan also went viral. It contained the voices of Imran, the then Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Chief Secretary Azam Khan. Forensic investigation proved that the audio was genuine and had not been tampered with. In the tape, Khan tells Qureshi and Azam - Now we will play with this cipher by showing it in rallies.
