दुष्कर्म के आरोपी भाजपा नेता कमल रावत को रविवार को गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया है. पुलिस के मुताबिक उसे देरशाम अरेस्ट किया गया. अब उसे सोमवार को अदालत में पेश किया जाएगा. बता दें कि बीजेपी नेता रहे कमल रावत को पार्टी से पहले ही निष्कासित कर दिया गया था. 29 दिसंबर को कमल पर एक नाबालिग से दुष्कर्म करने का आरोप लगा था. मुकदमा दर्ज होने के एक दिन बाद कमल रावत को पार्टी से निष्कासित कर दिया गया था. 

वहीं, इस मामले में रविवार को पुलिस ने बताया कि निष्कासित भाजपा नेता कमल रावत को यहां एक नाबालिग लड़की से कथित तौर पर बलात्कार करने के आरोप में रविवार को गिरफ्तार किया गया. पुलिस अधिकारी योगेश उपाध्याय ने कहा कि रावत को देर शाम चंपावत से गिरफ्तार किया गया और उन्हें सोमवार को अदालत में पेश किया जाएगा. मामले को लेकर कांग्रेस ने बीजेपी सरकार का पुतला फूंका.

पुलिस ने रावत के खिलाफ यौन अपराधों से बच्चों का संरक्षण अधिनियम और भारतीय दंड संहिता की संबंधित धाराओं के तहत मामला दर्ज किया था. शनिवार को पीड़िता की मेडिकल जांच हुई लेकिन कोर्ट में उसका बयान दर्ज नहीं हो सका. भाजपा के चंपावत जिला अध्यक्ष निर्मल मेहरा ने कहा कि रावत को पार्टी से निष्कासित कर दिया गया है.

बता दें कि, उत्तराखंड के चंपावत में बीजेपी के एक नेता पर रेप का आरोप लगा है. पुलिस ने शुक्रवार को कहा था कि उत्तराखंड के चंपावत जिले में नाबालिग लड़की से कथित तौर पर बलात्कार करने के आरोप में भाजपा नेता पर मामला दर्ज किया गया है. चंपावत मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी का विधानसभा क्षेत्र है. चंपावत के पुलिस अधीक्षक (एसपी) देवेंद्र पिंचा ने कहा कि बीजेपी के स्थानीय नेता कमल रावत पर आईपीसी की 376 (बलात्कार), 504 (जानबूझकर अपमान) और 506 (धमकी) के साथ-साथ संरक्षण अधिनियम के तहत मामला दर्ज किया गया है. बीजेपी नेता पर POCSO (यौन अपराधों से बच्चों का बचाव) एक्ट के तहत भी केस दर्ज किया गया है. पिंचा ने कहा कि शनिवार को मेडिकल जांच के बाद लड़की का बयान अदालत में दर्ज कराया जाएगा.

Champawat Superintendent of Police (SP) Devendra Pincha said that local BJP leader Kamal Rawat has been booked under IPC sections 376 (rape), 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (intimidation) as well as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act. A case has also been registered against the BJP leader under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses) Act. Pincha said that after the medical examination on Saturday, the girl's statement will be recorded in the court.
