EVM और VVPAT मामले में सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने सुनाया बड़ा फैसला

EVM-VVPAT मामले में सुप्रीम कोर्ट से विपक्ष को बड़ा झटका लगा है. कोर्ट ने बुधवार को सुनवाई के बाद फैसला सुरक्षित रख लिया था. इस मामले में याचिकाकर्ताओं ने मांग की थी कि ईवीएम पर मतदाताओं का विश्वास बनाए रखने के लिए उसके वोट और VVPAT की पर्चियों की 100 प्रतिशत गिनती करवाई जानी चाहिए.

लोकसभा चुनाव के दूसरे चरण की वोटिंग के दौरान आज सुप्रीम कोर्ट इलेक्ट्रॉनिक वोटिंग मशीन (EVM) के वोटों के साथ वोटर-वेरिफिएबल पेपर ऑडिट ट्रेल (VVPAT) पर्चियों का मिलान वाली याचिका पर अपना फैसला सुनाया है. शीर्ष अदालत ने बैलेट पेपर से चुनाव कराने समेत सभी मांग खारिज कर दी हैं. उसने कहा कि हम दो निर्देश दे रहे हैं. सिंबल लोडिंग यूनिट सील की जाएं और कंट्रोल यूनिट, वीवीपीएट पूरी तरह से चेक की जाएं. कई संगठनों ने याचिका दाखिल की थी कि ईवीएम और वीवीपैट की पर्चियों का मिलान भी किया जाए. जस्टिस संजीव खन्ना और जस्टिस दीपांकर दत्ता की बेंच मामले में सुनवाई की है.

दरअसल, सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने याचिकाओं पर सुनवाई और चुनाव आयोग की ओर से स्पष्टता दिए जाने के बाद बुधवार को अपना फैसला सुरक्षित रख लिया था. पिछली सुनवाई में सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने चुनाव आयोग से कहा था कि चुनावी प्रक्रिया में शुचिता होनी चाहिए.

चुनावी प्रक्रिया में पवित्रता होनी चाहिए
सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने चुनाव आयोग से स्वतंत्र और निष्पक्ष चुनाव सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अपनाए गए कदमों के बारे में विस्तार से बताने को कहा था. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा था कि यह एक चुनावी प्रक्रिया है. इसमें पवित्रता होनी चाहिए. किसी को भी यह आशंका नहीं होनी चाहिए कि जो कुछ संभावनाएं बनती हैं, वह नहीं किया जा रहा है.

Supreme Court gives big decision in EVM and VVPAT case

The opposition has received a big blow from the Supreme Court in the EVM-VVPAT case. The court had reserved the decision after the hearing on Wednesday. In this case, the petitioners had demanded that to maintain voters' confidence in EVMs, 100 percent counting of its votes and VVPAT slips should be done.

Supreme Court gave its verdict in EVM-VVPAT case
During the second phase of voting of Lok Sabha elections, today the Supreme Court has given its verdict on the petition regarding matching of Voter-Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) slips with the votes of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). The apex court has rejected all the demands including holding elections through ballot paper. He said that we are giving two instructions. Symbol loading units should be sealed and control units, VVPATs should be thoroughly checked. Many organizations had filed a petition that EVM and VVPAT slips should also be matched. The bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice Dipankar Dutta has heard the case.

In fact, the Supreme Court had reserved its decision on Wednesday after hearing the petitions and giving clarity from the Election Commission. In the last hearing, the Supreme Court had told the Election Commission that there should be purity in the electoral process.

There should be sanctity in the electoral process
The Supreme Court had asked the Election Commission to explain in detail the steps taken to ensure free and fair elections. The Supreme Court had said that this is an electoral process. There should be purity in it. No one should fear that whatever possibilities exist are not being implemented.
