मौत एक शास्वत सत्य है, लेकिन ज़िन्दगी में कुछ काम ऐसे होते हैं जो इंसान को मरने के बाद भी अमर बना देते हैं। उन्ही में से एक है नेत्रदान। शेक्सपियर ने कहा था कि आंखें वास्तव में हमारी दुनिया और हमारी आत्मा के लिए खिड़कियां हैं। नेत्रदान एक ऐसा नेक कार्य है जो नेत्रहीनों या नेत्रहीनों की दृष्टि वापस पाने में मदद कर सकता है। हालांकि, सभी प्रकार के अंधेपन को ठीक करना थोड़ा मुश्किल है लेकिन दृष्टिबाधित अधिकांश लोग सर्जरी और दवाओं की मदद से अपनी दृष्टि वापस पा सकते हैं। आज चिकित्सा विज्ञान उन रोगियों के लिए दृष्टि बहाल करने के लिए पर्याप्त रूप से उन्नत है जो दृष्टि दोष के कारण दिन-प्रतिदिन के जीवन से जूझ रहे हैं। लोग मृत्यु के बाद भी नेत्रदान कर दूसरों की मदद कर रहे हैं।
बीकानेर के मुक्ता प्रसाद नगर के मकान नंबर 2/197 निवासी श्रीमती कमला मोदी धर्मपत्नी श्री ओमप्रकाश मोदी बीते 24 दिसंबर को एक हादसे का शिकार हो गईं। उनकी मृत्यु से पूरा परिवार शोक में डूब गया। लेकिन, अपनी भावनाओं पर काबू पाते हुए उनके परिवार ने वो काम कर दिखाया जो सबके लिए एक मिसाल है। परिजनों ने स्वर्गीय कमला देवी के नेत्रदान कर उन्हें अमर बना दिया। उनके इस कार्य से आने वाले दिनों में दो नेत्रहीन इंसान इस खूबसूरत दुनिया को देख सकेंगे।
नेत्रदानी कमला मोदी के पुत्र शिव मोदी, भाई राकेश मोदी एवं अन्य परिजनों ने स्वेच्छा से आई बैंक सोसाइटी ऑफ़ राजस्थान की प्रेरणा से इस कार्य को अंजाम दिया। इस दौरान कमला मोदी के परिजनों के साथ-साथ नर्सिंग स्टाफ रमजान और असिस्टेन्ट मैनेजर तरुण यादव ने अपनी सेवाएं दीं।
नेत्रदानी कमला देवी मोदी और उनके परिजनों सहित पूरे मोदी परिवार ने इस ऐतिहासिक कदम से मानव सेवा का अनुपम उदाहरण प्रस्तुत किया है।

However, it is a bit difficult to cure all types of blindness but most of the visually impaired people can regain their vision with the help of surgery and medicines. Today medical science has advanced enough to restore vision for patients who are struggling with day-to-day life due to vision impairment. People are helping others by donating eyes even after death.
Mrs. Kamla Modi, wife of Mr. Omprakash Modi, resident of house number 2/197, Mukta Prasad Nagar, Bikaner, became victim of an accident on 24th December. His death left the entire family in mourning. But, controlling their emotions, his family did something which is an example for everyone. The family members made the late Kamla Devi immortal by donating her eyes. Due to his work, in the coming days, two blind people will be able to see this beautiful world.
Eye donor Kamala Modi's son Shiv Modi, brother Rakesh Modi and other family members voluntarily carried out this work with the inspiration of Eye Bank Society of Rajasthan. During this time, along with the family members of Kamala Modi, nursing staff Ramzan and Assistant Manager Tarun Yadav provided their services.
The entire Modi family including eye donor Kamla Devi Modi and her family members have set a unique example of human service with this historic step.
