बीकानेर पीबीएम अस्पताल के वार्डों में सिगरेट, बीड़ी, गुटखा और चाय बेचने पर प्रतिबंध है. गार्डों को ऐसे लोगों को पकड़ने की जिम्मेदारी सौंपी गई है, लेकिन वे खुद ही इन चीजों का सेवन कर रहे हैं। पीबीएम अस्पताल के मेडिसिन, न्यूरो, ऑर्थो, गायनी, चिल्ड्रेन हॉस्पिटल, यूरोलॉजी, सर्जरी और हार्ट सहित सभी वार्डों में दिनभर चाय, बीड़ी, सिगरेट और गुटखा बेचने वाले खुलेआम घूमते रहते हैं। अधीक्षक ने इन वस्तुओं की बिक्री पर रोक लगा दी है. इसके लिए सुरक्षा पदाधिकारी को अधिकृत किया गया है.
ऐसे लोगों को पकड़ना और उनसे 50 रुपये जुर्माना वसूलना गार्ड की जिम्मेदारी है, लेकिन जब गार्ड ही इन चीजों का सेवन करने लगे तो इसे क्या कहेंगे. पीबीएम परिसर के कर्मचारी और बाहर चाय की दुकानें लगाने वाले दिनभर पीबीएम वार्डों में चाय बेचते नजर आते हैं। ऐसे कर्मियों से हर माह करीब दस हजार रुपये जुर्माना वसूला जा रहा है. सौ से अधिक चाय के थर्मोज जब्त किये जा चुके हैं, लेकिन कारोबार अब भी यथावत जारी है. पीबीएम की सुरक्षा व्यवस्था को लेकर सुरक्षा अधिकारी को पत्र लिखा गया है। अगर इसमें कोई गलती पाई गई तो संबंधित गार्ड के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
