रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक रविवार को एक भड़काऊ भाषण के मामले की जांच कर रही गुजरात पुलिस मुंबई पहुंची और मौलाना मुफ्ती को हिरासत में लेकर घाटकोपर पुलिस थाने में ले गई, जहां पहुंचे मुफ्ती समर्थकों ने उनकी तत्काल रिहाई करते हुए घाटकोपर थाने का घेराव कर लिया. हालांकि इस दौरान मौलाना मुफ्ती ने समर्थकों को शांत करने की कोशिश की.

गौरलतब है कथित भड़काऊ भाषण का वीडियो सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल होने के बाद मुफ्ती सलमान अजहरी के कार्यक्रम के दो स्थानीय आयोजकों क्रमशः मोहम्मद यूसुफ मलिक और अजीम हबीब ओडेदरा के खिलाफ भारतीय दंड संहिता की धारा 153बी और 505 (2) के तहत एक प्राथमिकी दर्ज की गई थी.

भड़काऊं भाषण मामले में गुजरात के जूनागढ़ की पुलिस ने इस्लामी उपदेशक मुफ्ती सलमान अजहरी और उनके दो सहयोगी क्रमशः युसूफ मलिक और अजीम हबीब को हिरासत में ले चुकी है. सोशल मीडिया पर उनके भड़काऊ भाषण  वायरल होने के बाद मुफ्ती के दो सहयोगी को शनिवार को गिरफ्तार किया था.
