मेटा के स्वामित्व वाले लोकप्रिय इंस्टेंट मैसेजिंग एप्लिकेशन व्हाट्सऐप ने 2021 के नए आईटी नियमों के अनुपालन में भारत में 7.4 मिलियन से अधिक बेकार अकाउंट के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की। रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, मैसेजिंग प्लेटफॉर्म ने 1-31 अगस्त के बीच देश में कम से कम 7,420,748 अकाउंट्स पर बैन लगा दिया। यूजर्स की किसी भी रिपोर्ट से पहले, इनमें से लगभग 3,506,905 अकाउंट को प्रो-एक्टिवली से बैन कर दिया गया था।

मेटा के स्वामित्व वाले ऐप ने अपनी मासिक कंप्लायंस रिपोर्ट में, भारत में अगस्त में रिकॉर्ड 14,767 शिकायत रिपोर्ट प्राप्त की। खातों पर कार्रवाई उन रिपोर्टों को दर्शाता है। दरअसल, भारत में ऑनलाइन धोखाधड़ी के मामले दिनोंदिन तेजी से बढ़ते जा रहे हैं।

हर दिन नए घोटाले के मामले सामने आ रहे हैं और मैसेजिंग ऐप व्हाट्सऐप इन घोटालों का सबसे बड़ा अड्डा बनता जा रहा है। ऐसे इसलिए क्योंकि स्कैमर्स, व्हाट्सऐप मैसेज या फिर कॉल के जरिए लोगों तक पहुंचते हैं और उनसे लाखों रुपए चुरा लेते हैं। हालांकि, स्कैमर्स से निपटने के लिए अब व्हाट्सऐप अपने प्लेटफॉर्म को और अधिक सुरक्षित बनाने पर काम कर रहा है

Meta-owned popular instant messaging application WhatsApp took action against over 7.4 million inactive accounts in India in compliance with the new IT rules of 2021. According to the report, the messaging platform banned at least 7,420,748 accounts in the country between August 1-31. About 3,506,905 of these accounts were proactively banned, before any reports from users.

The Meta-owned app, in its monthly compliance report, received a record 14,767 complaint reports in India in August. Actions on accounts are reflected in those reports. Actually, cases of online fraud in India are increasing rapidly day by day.
