जेल में तौलिए से लटका मिला बंदी का शव,पॉक्सो मामले में था विचाराधीन

जिला कारागृह में बुधवार को उस समय हड़कंप मच गया, जब बैरिक नंबर चार में पॉक्सो के आरोप में विचाराधीन कैदी का शव जेलर ऑफिस के पास बाथरुम में तौलिए से लटका मिला। बंदी प्रभुराम मेघवाल (23) पॉक्सो मामले में जिला जेल में तीन महीने से बंद था और मामला कोर्ट में विचाराधीन चल रहा है। जेल प्रशासन को सुबह करीब 9 बजे घटना का पता लगा, जब जेल में बंदियों की गिनती की जा रही थी।

प्रभुराम मेघवाल के वहां न होने पर उसकी तलाश की गई तो वह बाथरुम में मृत मिला। सूचना के बाद कोतवाली पुलिस और डॉक्टर स्टाफ के साथ जिला जेल पहुंचे। मजिस्ट्रेट की मौजूदगी में पुलिस ने कार्रवाई कर परिजनों को सूचना दी। चूरू जिला कारागृह में बीते एक साल में यह दूसरी कस्टोडियन डेथ है। इससे पहले 25 जुलाई 2022 को भी पॉक्सो के ही आरोपी बंदी का चूरू जिला जेल में तौलिए से लटका शव मिला था।

जिला जेल के डीएसपी कैलाश सिंह शेखावत ने बताया कि गांव आलसर के प्रभुराम मेघवाल के खिलाफ राजलदेसर थाने में पॉक्सो का मामला दर्ज हुआ था। कोर्ट में विचाराधीन इस मामले में प्रभुराम को 21 मई 2023 को जिला जेल में लाया गया था। बंदी के आचरण के आधार पर उसे ऑफिस में सफाई का कार्य दिया गया था। बुधवार सुबह जब बंदियों की गिनती की गई तो बैरिक संख्या चार का बंदी नहीं मिला। जब उसकी तलाश की गई तो वह ऑफिस के पास बाथरूम में तोलिए से लटका मिला। कोतवाली पुलिस तथा जिला प्रशासन को घटना की सूचना दी गई। सूचना के बाद एसीजीएम लीलूराम सिहाग जिला जेल पहुंचे।

शेखावत ने कोतवाली थाना पुलिस को इस संबंध में रिपोर्ट दी है। जेल प्रशासन प्राथमिक तौर पर मामले को खुदकुशी का मान रहा है। हालांकि पुलिस इसकी हर पहलू से जांच करेगी।गौरतलब हैं की इससे पहले 25 जुलाई 2022 में जिला जेल के बेरिक नंबर 6 में पॉक्सो ​​​​​​​के विचाराधीन बंदी छगनलाल का शव भी बाथरूम में तौलिया से लटका हुआ मिला था। जिला जेल में फिलहाल 302 कैदी बंद है। जबकि जिला जेल की क्षमता 163 बंदियों को रखने की है।

मृतक प्रभुराम से मिलने पहुंची बहन रुक्मणी​​​​​​​
जिला जेल में बुधवार को मुलाकात का दिन होने की वजह से मृतक प्रभुराम की बहन रुक्मणी अपने भाई से मिलने के लिए पहुंची थी। उसके साथ भाभी गायत्री और बच्चे भी थे। लेकिन जब वह जिला कारागृह पहुंची तो अपने भाई की मौत की सूचना मिलते ही वह बेसुध हो गई और बिलख-बिलख कर रोने लगी। बड़ी मुश्किल से जेल प्रशासन और उसकी भाभी ने उसे संभाला लेकिन वह खुद को रोक नहीं पाई। मृतक आठ भाई बहनों में तीसरे नंबर पर था और अविवाहित था। चार माह पहले प्रभुराम अपनी बहन रुक्मणी के पास रहकर रतनगढ़ में टेलर का काम करता था।

Prisoner's dead body found hanging from towel in jail, was under consideration in POCSO case

There was a stir in the District Jail on Wednesday when the dead body of a prisoner under trial on charges of POCSO in barrick number four was found hanging from a towel in the bathroom near the jailer's office. Prisoner Prabhuram Meghwal (23) was lodged in the district jail for three months in a POCSO case and the matter is pending in the court. The jail administration came to know about the incident at around 9 am when the inmates were being counted in the jail.

When Prabhuram Meghwal was not there, he was searched and found dead in the bathroom. After the information, Kotwali police and doctors reached the district jail along with the staff. In the presence of the magistrate, the police took action and informed the family members. This is the second custodian death in Churu District Jail in the last one year. Earlier, on July 25, 2022, the dead body of a prisoner accused of POCSO was found hanging from a towel in Churu District Jail.

District Jail DSP Kailash Singh Shekhawat said that a POCSO case was registered against Prabhuram Meghwal of Alsar village at Rajaldesar police station. Prabhuram was brought to the district jail on May 21, 2023, in this matter pending in the court. On the basis of the prisoner's conduct, he was given the job of cleaning in the office. When the prisoners were counted on Wednesday morning, the prisoner of barrick number four was not found. When he was searched, he was found hanging with a towel in the bathroom near the office. Kotwali police and district administration were informed about the incident. After information, ACGM Liluram reached Sihag District Jail.

Shekhawat has given a report in this regard to the Kotwali police station. The jail administration is primarily considering the case as a suicide. However, the police will investigate it from every aspect. It is noteworthy that earlier on July 25, 2022, the body of POCSO undertrial Chhaganlal was also found hanging with a towel in the bathroom in Berrick No. 6 of the district jail. At present 302 prisoners are lodged in the district jail. While the capacity of the district jail is to keep 163 prisoners.

Sister Rukmani reached to meet deceased Prabhuram
Since Wednesday was the meeting day in the district jail, deceased Prabhuram's sister Rukmani had come to meet her brother. Sister-in-law Gayatri and children were also with him. But when she reached the district jail, upon receiving the news of her brother's death, she became unconscious and started crying uncontrollably. With great difficulty the jail administration and her sister-in-law controlled her but she could not stop herself. The deceased was third among eight siblings and was unmarried. Four months ago, Prabhuram used to work as a tailor in Ratangarh while living with his sister Rukmani.
