राजस्‍थान चुनाव से एक बड़ा ही अजीब इत्तेफाक जुड़ा हुआ है. अगर हम 2013,2018 के चुनावों के साथ 2023 में होने वाले चुनाव पर नजर डालें तो इस बार भी राजस्‍थान की सभी 200 सीटों पर मतदान नहीं होगा. स‍िर्फ 199 सीटों पर मतदान होगा. इसकी वजह है क‍ि मतदान से पहले क‍िसी एक सीट पर क‍िसी एक पार्टी के उम्‍मीदवार का देहांत हो जाता है और सभी सीटों पर चुनाव आयोग की पहले से तय तारीख पर मतदान नहीं हो पाता है. इस बार भी राजस्‍थान में एक उम्‍मीदवार के न‍िधन की वजह से एक सीट पर 25 नवंबर को मतदान नहीं होगा.

राजस्थान के करणपुर विधानसभा क्षेत्र से कांग्रेस के उम्मीदवार गुरमीत सिंह कूनर का एम्स दिल्ली में इलाज के दौरान बुधवार को निधन हो गया. वह 75 वर्ष के थे. कूनर, जो करणपुर से मौजूदा विधायक थे, उनको 12 नवंबर को दिल्ली में अखिल भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान (एम्स) के जेरिएट्रिक मेडिसिन वार्ड में भर्ती कराया गया था. कूनर की सेप्टिक शॉक और गुर्दे की बीमारी के साथ सेप्सिस से मृत्यु हो गई. अस्पताल द्वारा जारी मृत्यु प्रमाण पत्र के अनुसार, वह हाई ब्‍लड प्रेशर से भी पीड़ित थे. 200 सदस्यीय राजस्थान विधानसभा के लिए मतदान 25 नवंबर को होना है.

कांग्रेस उम्‍मीदवार गुरमीत कुन्नर के निधन के बाद अब राजस्‍थान में 25 नवंबर को 199 सीटों पर ही मतदान होगा. यह पहली बार नहीं है इससे पहले वर्ष 2018 और वर्ष 2013 में भी 199 सीट पर ही मतदान हुआ था. वर्ष 2018 में व‍िधानसभा चुनाव से रामगढ़ के बीएसपी प्रत्याशी लक्ष्मण का न‍िधन हुआ था. इसके बाद पहले से तय तारीख पर चुनाव नहीं हुआ था. इसी तरह से वर्ष 2013 में चूरू से बसपा प्रत्याशी जगदीश मेघवाल का न‍िधन हुआ था. 2013 और 2018 में व‍िधानसभा चुनाव से ठीक पहले ही प्रत्याशियों का निधन हुआ था.

अब चुनाव आयोग फैसला लेगा, हालांकि 7 दिन का समय देकर कांग्रेस से प्रत्याशी का नाम लेने का भी विकल्प है. नाम लेकर सारे विधानसभा क्षेत्र के साथ ही करणपुर में भी मतदान का विकल्प है. चुनाव आयोग आज से मतदान के दिन तक और मतदान से काउंटिंग के दिन के समय में कभी भी करणपुर व‍िधानसभा सीट पर मतदान करवा सकता है. सभी विकल्पों पर विचार करके ही चुनाव आयोग फैसला लेगा.

Gurmeet Singh Kooner, Congress candidate from Rajasthan's Karanpur assembly constituency, died on Wednesday during treatment at AIIMS Delhi. He was 75 years old. Cooner, who was the sitting MLA from Karanpur, was admitted to the geriatric medicine ward of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi on November 12. Kooner died of sepsis along with septic shock and kidney disease. According to the death certificate issued by the hospital, he was also suffering from high blood pressure. Voting for the 200-member Rajasthan Assembly is to be held on November 25.

After the death of Congress candidate Gurmeet Kunnar, now voting will be held on 199 seats only on November 25 in Rajasthan. This is not the first time, earlier in the year 2018 and 2013 also voting was held on 199 seats only. In the year 2018, BSP candidate from Ramgarh Laxman died in the assembly elections. After this, elections were not held on the previously fixed date. Similarly, in the year 2013, BSP candidate from Churu Jagdish Meghwal died. In 2013 and 2018, candidates died just before the assembly elections.

Now the Election Commission will take the decision, however, there is also an option to take the name of the candidate from Congress after giving 7 days time. There is an option to vote by name in all assembly constituencies as well as in Karanpur. The Election Commission can conduct voting in Karanpur Assembly seat any time from today till the day of voting and from the day of voting to the day of counting. The Election Commission will take the decision only after considering all the options.
