राजस्थान में आज 3:00 बजे मंत्रिमंडल का गठन और शपथ होना है। लेकिन इससे कुछ घंटे पहले राजस्थान पुलिस में बड़ा घटनाक्रम हुआ है।‌ राजस्थान पुलिस के पुराने डीजीपी उमेश मिश्रा ने वीआरएस ले लिया है । उनके इस फैसले से सब चौंक गए हैं । सबसे बड़ी बात यह है कि सरकार ने उनके वीआरएस को मंजूर भी कर दिया है और उसके बाद उनसे सीनियर एक आईपीएस को नए डीजीपी का पदभार दिया गया है । नई अफसर का नाम उत्कल रंजन साहू है।

राष्ट्रपति पुलिस पदक विजेता हैं नए डीजीपी
रंजन साहू ने अभी कुछ देर पहले राजस्थान पुलिस मुख्यालय पहुंचकर पदभार ग्रहण किया है । उनके जूनियर अफसरों ने उन्हें शुभकामनाएं और बधाई दी है। साहू को सरकार ने फिलहाल कार्यवाहक डीजीपी बनाया है। वह 6 महीने बाद यानी जून महीने में रिटायर होने वाले हैं। उत्कल रंजन साहू पिछली भाजपा सरकार में सीएम सिक्योरिटी और इंटेलीजेंस के इंचार्ज थे। वे राष्ट्रपति पुलिस पदक और पुलिस पदक से सम्मानित हो चुके हैं।‌

11 महीने पहले ही उमेश मिश्रा ने लिया वीआरएस
डीजीपी उमेश मिश्रा का कार्यकाल इस साल अक्टूबर 2024 तक था , लेकिन उन्होंने अपने कार्यकाल से 11 महीने पहले वीआरएस ले लिया है ।‌उमेश मिश्रा कांग्रेस सरकार में लंबे समय तक डीजीपी रहे। इससे पहले उन्होंने इंटेलिजेंस की कमान संभाली थी।‌ उमेश मिश्रा को पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री अशोक गहलोत का करीबी अफसर माना जाता था। इसी के चलते कांग्रेस ने सीनियरिटी लांगते हुए उन्हें डीजीपी बनाया था जबकि उत्कल रंजन साहू उनसे सीनियर थे।‌

क्या होगा आईजी का नया टारगेट
नई डीजीपी उत्कल रंजन साहू ने आज पुलिस मुख्यालय में कार्यभार संभाल लिया है ।‌उनके सामने पहले ही सबसे बड़ा काम मंत्रिमंडल के गठन का है।‌ उसके बाद अगले महीने 5 जनवरी से शुरू होकर 7 जनवरी तक चलने वाली डीजीपी - आईजी कॉन्फ्रेंस उनका अगला टारगेट रहेगा । इस कांफ्रेंस में प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी, गृहमंत्री अमित शाह समेत 25 से ज्यादा राज्यों के डीजीपी - आईजी और अन्य सीनियर आईपीएस अफसर आ रहे हैं।
