दस करोड़ की चंदन की लकड़ी जब्त की,चीन-जापान हो रही थी सप्लाई,एक आरोपी को किया गिरफ्तार

पुलिस ने जिले का अब तक का सबसे बड़ा चंदन तस्करी का मामला पकड़ते हुए अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर के गिरोह का भंडाफोड़ किया है। भिरानी थाना पुलिस ने करीब दस करोड़ रुपए मूल्य की 90 क्विंटल 70 किलोग्राम लाल चंदन की अवैध लकड़ी लदा वाहन जब्त कर एक जने को गिरफ्तार किया है।

पुलिस ने आरोपी को शुक्रवार को कोर्ट में पेश कर उसका दो दिन का रिमांड मंजूर कराया है। इस प्रकरण में चार-पांच अन्य लोगों के नाम सामने आए हैं, पुलिस उनको पकडऩे के लिए दबिश दे रही है। चंदन तस्करी में अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर के गिरोह के तार जुड़े होने की बात सामने आई है, क्योंकि चंदन की लकड़ी की तस्करी कर मुख्यत: चीन, जापान आदि देशों में भेजकर तस्कर चांदी कूटते हैं।

जिला पुलिस अधीक्षक सुधीर चौधरी ने शुक्रवार को प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में बताया कि चुनाव आयोग के निर्देश हैं कि सभी विभागों से समन्वय कर नशे की तस्करी रोकने आदि की कार्रवाई की जाए। उसके तहत ही भिरानी पुलिस ने 90 क्विंटल 70 किलोग्राम चंदन की लकड़ी पकड़ी है। इसका वन विभाग से सत्यापन करवा लिया है। वन विभाग से जानकारी मिली है कि यह लाल चंदन की लकड़ी है जो उच्च गुणवत्ता का होता है।

इसकी अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजार में अनुमानित कीमत 10 करोड़ रुपए है और यह इससे अधिक भी हो सकती है। इसका वास्तविक मूल्य प्राप्त करने के प्रयास किए जा रहे हैं। इसकी सूचना राजस्व आसूचना निदेशालय (डीआरआई) को भी दे दी गई है, क्योंकि चंदन की लकड़ी की तस्करी होने या किसी अन्य सामान के साथ छुपाकर बाहर भेजने की बात प्रथम दृष्टया सामने आई है। कर्नाटक से इसका संबंध होना सामने आया है। इसके लिए कर्नाटक के वन विभाग तथा पुलिस के उच्चाधिकारियों को सूचना दी गई है।

पहले ठिकाना था हरियाणा
पुलिस की प्रारंभिक पड़ताल में सामने आया है कि चंदन की तस्करी से जुड़ा गिरोह यह काम पहले हरियाणा में कर रहा था। वहां हिसार आदि में कार्रवाई के बाद अब कुछ समय से हनुमानगढ़ जिले में काम शुरू किया था।

यूं आए पकड़ में
भिरानी व भादरा थाना प्रभारी के नेतृत्व में गठित पुलिस टीम ने मुखबिर की सूचना पर रोही बीबीपुर स्थित जगदीश खाती फार्म हाउस पर दबिश दी। पुलिस टीम वहां पहुंची तो आरोपी सतवीर जाट मिला। पुलिस ने फार्म हाउस में बने कमरे की तलाशी ली तो उसमें चंदन की लकडिय़ों के टुकड़े काफी मात्रा में रखे हुए थे।पुलिस की सूचना पर भादरा से वन विभाग के अधिकारी मौके पर पहुंचे। सतवीर ने पूछताछ में बताया कि चन्दन की लकड़ी दीपक पुत्र चानणमल खाती निवासी डाबड़ी व उसके साथी चोरी-छिपे काटकर यहां लाते हैं। पुलिस ने चन्दन की लकडिय़ों के टुकड़ों को गिना तो कुल 321 नग निकले। उनका वजन 90 क्विंटल 70 किलोग्राम हुआ। मामले की जांच एएसआई कालूराम को सौंपी गई है।

District Superintendent of Police Sudhir Chaudhary told in the press conference on Friday that the Election Commission has directed that action should be taken to stop drug smuggling etc. by coordinating with all the departments. Under that, Bhirani police has seized 90 quintals and 70 kilograms of sandalwood. It has been verified from the Forest Department. Information has been received from the Forest Department that this is red sandalwood which is of high quality.

Its estimated price in the international market is Rs 10 crores and it may even be more than this. Efforts are being made to obtain its real value. This information has also been given to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), because prima facie it has come to light that sandalwood is being smuggled or sent out by hiding it along with some other goods. Its connection with Karnataka has come to light. For this, information has been given to the senior officials of Forest Department and Police of Karnataka.

The first destination was Haryana
Preliminary investigation by the police has revealed that the gang involved in sandalwood smuggling was earlier doing this work in Haryana. After action in Hisar etc., work had been started in Hanumangarh district for some time now.

On the information of the informer, the police team formed under the leadership of Bhirani and Bhadra police station in-charge raided Jagdish Khati Farm House located in Rohi Bibipur. When the police team reached there, the accused Satveer Jat was found. When the police searched the room in the farm house, a large quantity of pieces of sandalwood were kept in it. On the information of the police, forest department officials from Bhadra reached the spot. Satveer told during interrogation that resident Dabri and his associates secretly cut the sandalwood that Deepak's son Chananmal eats and bring it here. When the police counted the pieces of sandalwood, a total of 321 pieces were found. His weight was 90 quintals 70 kg. The investigation of the case has been handed over to ASI Kaluram.
