जयपुर​: राजस्थान में नई सरकार बनने के साथ ही पुलिस महकमे में भी बड़ा बदलाव हुआ है। यहां पुलिस डिपार्टमेंट के मुखिया आईपीएस उमेश मिश्र ने अपने पद से त्यागपत्र दे दिया है। पिछले एक साल से पुलिस महानिदेशक का पदभार संभालने वाले उमेश मिश्र के अचानक इस्तीफा दे दिया है। उनका इस्तीफा ब्यूरोक्रेसी से लेकर सियासी गलियारों तक में चर्चा का विषय बना हुआ है। मिश्र ने शुक्रवार 29 दिसंबर को दोपहर 3 बजे भारतीय पुलिस सेवा से वॉलंटरी रिटायरमेंट यानी वीआरएस के लिए आवेदन किया था। बता दें कि उमेश मिश्रा का कार्यकाल अगले साल नवंबर 2024 तक था, लेकिन उन्होंने पहले ही अचानक वीआरएस ले लिया।

लिखा भावुक पोस्ट​
वीआरएस लेने के बाद उमेश मिश्र ने फेसबुक पर एक भावुक पोस्ट भी लिखा है। इसमें उन्होंने भारतीय पुलिस सेवा के अपने तीन दशक के सफर को याद किया। उनकी इस पोस्ट पर शुभचिंतकों ने भी रिएक्दीशन दिया है और उनके उज्ज्वल भविष्य की कामना की है।

उमेश मिश्र ने फेसबुक पोस्ट में लिखा, ‘प्रिय साथियों एवं मित्रों…कल मैंने भारतीय पुलिस सेवा से वीआरएस लिया। मेरी पूरी सेवा के दौरान मुझे पुलिस बल और जनता का हर तरह से पूरा सहयोग मिला है। मुझे एक पुलिस बल का नेतृत्व करने पर गर्व है। जिसने अपनी पेशेवर उपलब्धियों में उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन किया। यह तीन दशक से अधिक की एक अद्भुत यात्रा रही है। जनता और मेरे प्यारे पुलिस परिवार द्वारा मुझ पर दिए गए प्यार, स्नेह और सम्मान को मैं हमेशा संजोकर रखूंगा। राजस्थान पुलिस के सभी पुलिस कर्मियों और जनता का मेरा दिल से आभार। सभी को आगामी नववर्ष की हार्दिक शुभकामनाएं…।’

पूर्व CM के नजदीकी थे उमेश मिश्र
उमेश मिश्र पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री अशोक गहलोत के सबसे करीबी अफसर बताए जाते हैं। जुलाई 2020 में जब गहलोत सरकार पर सियासी संकट आया था, तब आईपीएस उमेश मिश्रा इंटेलिजेंस में एडीजी थे। उन्होंने सीएम को सरकार गिरने की संभावनाओं के कई इनपुट दिए थे। साथ ही मिश्र ने गहलोत सरकार बचाने में भी मदद की। इसी का तोहफा देते हुए सीएम गहलोत ने दो वरिष्ठ अफसरों को दरकिनार करके उमेश मिश्र को पुलिस विभाग का मुखिया (डीजीपी) बना दिया था। ऐसे मुखिया को बीजेपी कैसे स्वीकार करती। इसीलिए सीएम भजनलाल शर्मा ने उन्हें कॉल किया तो उमेश मिश्र ने वीआरएस के लिए आवेदन कर दिया था जिसे तुरंत मंजूर कर लिया गया।

कार्यवाहक डीजी के तौर पर उत्कल रंजन साहू तैनात
कार्मिक विभाग ने 29 दिसंबर को ही उमेश मिश्रा के वीआरएस के आवेदन को स्वीकार कर लिया। उनके वीआरएस लेने के बाद डीजी (होमगार्ड्स) के पद पर तैनात सीनियर आईपीएस अधिकारी उत्कल रंजन (यू.आर.) साहू को डीजीपी के पद का कार्यभार सौंपा गया है। अब भजनलाल सरकार डीजीपी की नियुक्ति करेगी।

Umesh Mishra was close to former CM
Umesh Mishra is said to be the closest officer of former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. In July 2020, when the Gehlot government faced political crisis, IPS Umesh Mishra was ADG in Intelligence. He had given many inputs to the CM about the possibilities of the government falling. Besides, Mishra also helped in saving the Gehlot government. Giving this gift, CM Gehlot had made Umesh Mishra the head of the police department (DGP), bypassing two senior officers. How could BJP accept such a chief? That is why when CM Bhajanlal Sharma called him, Umesh Mishra applied for VRS which was immediately approved.

Utkal Ranjan Sahu appointed as acting DG
The Personnel Department accepted Umesh Mishra's VRS application on December 29 itself. After taking his VRS, senior IPS officer Utkal Ranjan (UR) Sahu, posted as DG (Home Guards), has been given the charge of the post of DGP. Now Bhajanlal government will appoint DGP.
