Paytm की पैरेंट कंपनी One 97 कम्युनिकेशन ने 1 हजार से ज्यादा लोगों को नौकरी से निकाल दिया है। ये कंपनी की अलग-अलग यूनिट्स में काम करते थे। कंपनी अपने अन्य बिजनेस पर फोकस करने के लिए कोस्ट कटिंग पर फोकस कर रही है। छंटनी का ये दौर पिछले कुछ महीनों से चल रहा है।

कंपनी ने कुल कर्मचारियों के 10% को लोगों को नौकरी से निकालने का फैसला किया है। इसके अलावा कंपनी ने अपने स्मॉट-टिकट कंज्यूमर लैंडिंग और 'बाय नाउ पे लेटर' में भी बदलाव किया है। RBI के अनसिक्योर लोन्स के फैसले को देखते हुए भी ऐसा किया गया है। कुछ समय पहले ही कंपनी ने कहा था कि वह अब छोटे लोन्स देने बंद करने जा रही है। यानी अब सिर्फ बड़े लोन्स देने पर ही काम किया जाएगा।

Paytm के इस फैसले ने कई लोगों को चिंता बढ़ा दी है। अब माना जा रहा है कि कंपनी लोन सेक्शन से भी छंटनी कर सकती है। क्योंकि अब लोन के नियमों में बदलाव हुआ है और इसका सीधा असर कंपनी के बिजनेस पर भी पड़ेगा। फिलहाल कंपनी ने तरफ से इस पर कोई ऑफिशियल बयान तो नहीं आया है। सीधी बात है कि इससे कंपनी के वर्कफोर्स भी सीधा असर पड़ेगा। यानी पेटीएम अब पैसे बचाने पर ज्यादा ध्यान दे रही है।

मीडिया रिपोर्ट्स की मानें तो ये सबसे बड़ी छंटनियों में से एक मानी जा रही है। पेटीएम में छंटनी की खबर ऐसे समय में आई है जब स्टार्टअप सबसे ज्यादा फंडिंग ईशू का सामना कर रहे हैं। 2023 के फर्स्ट थ्री क्वार्टर में करीब 28 हजार कर्मचारियों को स्टार्टअप ने नौकरियों से निकाला है। जबकि 2022 में ये आंकड़ा 20 हजार और 2021 में 4080 का था। वेल्थ मैनेजमेंट करने के लिए पेटीएम की तरफ से लगातार नए फैसले लिए भी जा रहे हैं और ये एक ऐसा ही बड़ा फैसला माना जा रहा है।
