राजस्थान विधानसभा चुनाव में कांग्रेस उम्मीदवार गुरमीतसिंह कुन्नर का निधन हो गया है। गुरमीत कुन्नर श्रीकरणपुर विधानसभा सीट से चुनाव लड़ रहे थे और उनका इलाज दिल्ली के एम्स अस्पताल में चल रहा था। उनका निधन चुनाव से पहले हो गया है, जिससे श्रीकरणपुर विधानसभा क्षेत्र में चुनाव स्थगित हो सकता है।

राजस्थान विधानसभा चुनाव में कांग्रेस उम्मीदवार गुरमीतसिंह कुन्नर का निधन हो गया है। गुरमीत कुन्नर श्रीगंगानगर जिले की श्रीकरणपुर विधानसभा सीट से कांग्रेस उम्मीदवार थे। जानकारी के अनुसार दिल्ली के एम्स अस्पताल में गुरमीतसिंह कुन्नर का निधन हुआ। गुरमीत सिंह कुन्नर के पुत्र रूबी कुन्नर ने निधन की पुष्टि की है।
75 साल के गुरमीतसिंह कुन्नर को दिल्ली एम्स में 12 नवंबर को भर्ती कराया गया था। गुरमीतसिंह कुन्नर के निधन से परिवार के साथ कांग्रेस पार्टी और समर्थकों में शोक की लहर दौड़ गई है। चुनाव से पहले प्रत्याशी के निधन के कारण अब श्रीकरणपुर विधानसभा क्षेत्र का चुनाव स्थगित हो जाएगा। हालांकि इस पर आखिरी फैसला चुनाव आयोग लेगा।
2018 के विधानसभा चुनाव में भी राजस्थान में 199 विधानसभा सीटों पर चुनाव हुआ था। चुनाव से पहले अलवर जिले के रामगढ़ में बहुजन समाज पार्टी (बसपा) के उम्मीदवार लक्ष्मण सिंह का हार्ट अटैक से निधन हो गया था। इस वजह से यहां चुनाव स्थगित हो गया था।
करणपुर विधानसभा सीट से 2018 में त्रिकोणीय मुकाबले में कांग्रेस के गुरमीतसिंह कुन्नर जीते थे। निर्दलीय पृथीपाल सिंह संधू दूसरे एवं भाजपा के सुरेन्द्रपालसिंह टीटी तीसरे नंबर पर रहे। इस बार तीनों ही फिर आमने-सामने है। संधू आम आदमी की पार्टी के टिकट पर मैद
ान में हैं। लेकिन राजस्थान विधानसभा चुनाव 2023 से पहले ही गुरमीतसिंह कुन्नर का निधन हो गया है।

75-year-old Gurmeet Singh Kunnar was admitted to Delhi AIIMS on November 12.
