भजनलाल शर्मा कैसे बने पीएम मोदी की पहली पसंद, पढ़ें राजस्थान के नए मुख्यमंत्री के संघर्ष की कहानी

राजस्थान के नए मुख्यमंत्री भजनलाल शर्मा अब तक लोगों के लिए अनजान थे लेकिन अब उनका नाम सबकी जुबान पर है। पार्टी का एक साधारण सा कार्यकर्ता जो पिछले तीन दशक से संगठन में सक्रिय था। वह अचानक मुख्यमंत्री की कुर्सी तक पहुंच गया। यह उनकी तपस्या का परिणाम है। 20 साल पहले वर्ष 2003 में भजनलाल शर्मा ने राजस्थान सामाजिक न्याय मंच के बैनर तले नदबई से विधानसभा चुनाव लड़ा था। उन्होंने 5969 वोट हासिल किए थे। बाद में भाजपा के संगठन में काम करने लगे। पद की लालसा छोड़कर वे संगठन में ईमानदारी से काम करने लगे। अब उन्हें 20 साल की तपस्या और धैर्य का बड़ा इनाम मिला है।

गिरिराज महाराज की शरण में मिले जेपी नड्डा से
भाजपा के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष जेपी नड्डा एक बार गोवर्धन जी में गिरिराज महाराज के दर्शन करने आए थे। उन दिन भजनलाल शर्मा उनसे पहली बार मिले। हालांकि इससे पहले भी भजनलाल युवा मोर्चा में विभिन्न पदों पर रहकर काम करते रहे लेकिन नड्डा से मिलने के बाद वे उन्होंने अपने आप में बदलाव किया। वे पार्टी में सक्रिय हुए और बिना किसी पद की लालसा किए उन्होंने काम शुरू किया। बाद में पार्टी के हर कार्यक्रम की रूपरेखा भजनलाल ही तय करने लगे। पार्टी का प्रदेशाध्यक्ष कोई भी हो लेकिन बड़े कार्यक्रमों में किसका भाषण होगा, कितनी देर होगा और मंच पर कौन कौन बोलेगा। यह तय करने का काम भजनलाल शर्मा का था। अमूमन मंच का संचालन वे स्वयं करते थे।

निष्ठावान और भरोसेमंद नेता की तलाश थी पीएम मोदी को
विधानसभा चुनावों से पहले ही प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को राजस्थान में एक निष्ठावान, कर्मठ और भरोसेमंद नेता की तलाश थी। पीएम मोदी ने अमित शाह और जेपी नड्डा को यह टास्क दिया कि राजस्थान में ऐसे नेता की तलाश की जाए जो गुटबाजी और विवादों से बहुत दूर हो। पार्टी के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष जेपी नड्डा ने संगठन के हर कार्यकर्ता का रिकॉर्ड चैक किया। संगठन के पदाधिकारियों और कार्यकर्ताओं से फीडबैक लिया। कई नेताओं के नाम सामने आए, उनमें एक भजनलाल शर्मा भी थे। पार्टी के शीर्ष नेतृत्व तक निष्ठावान, कर्मठ और विवादों से दूर रहने वाले नेताओं की सूची पहुंची।

मोदी ने मनन किया और लगा दी मुहर
पीएम मोदी ने राजस्थान में संगठन के जुड़े हर पदाधिकारी और कार्यकर्ताओं की सूची पर मनन किया। बाद में उन्होंने तय किया कि इन्हीं में से किसी एक को बड़ी जिम्मेदारी देनी है। विधानसभा चुनाव की प्रक्रिया शुरू हुई तो भजनलाल शर्मा ने भी भरतपुर सीट से टिकट मांगा। पार्टी ने उन्हें भरतपुर के बजाय जयपुर की सांगानेर सीट से प्रत्याशी बनाया। भरतपुर सीट पार्टी के लिए काफी कठिन थी क्योंकि पिछले कई चुनावों से वहां भाजपा के प्रत्याशी चुनाव जीत नहीं पा रहे थे।

 जयपुर की सांगानेर सीट भाजपा का गढ़ है और यह सबसे सुरक्षित सीट मानी जा रही थी। भजनलाल को सांगानेर से प्रत्याशी बनाने की पीछे एक वजह यही थी कि पार्टी उन्हें आगे बढ़ाना चाहती थी। तीन राज्यों में चुनाव जीतने और मध्य प्रदेश, छत्तीसगढ़ में मुख्यमंत्री तय किए जाने के बाद जातीय समीकरण और अन्य फार्मूलों में फिट बैठने वाला एक ही नाम था भजनलाल शर्मा। पीएम मोदी ने बिना देर लगाए इस नाम पर मुहर लगा दी।

सारे कयास फेल, सामने आया नया नाम
विधानसभा चुनावों में पूर्ण बहुमत हासिल करने के बाद राजस्थान में मुख्यमंत्री तय करने से पहले राजनैतिक गलियारों में कई नाम चले। पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री सहित कई सीनियर नेताओं के नामों पर चर्चाएं हुई। अलग अलग कयास लगते रहे। बाद में यह कहा जाने लगा कि बीजेपी में कुछ भी हो सकता है। यहां चौंकाने वाला नाम सामने आ सकता है। 

यही हुआ। मंगलवार 12 दिसंबर की शाम 4 बजे तक किसी को आभास नहीं हुआ कि मुख्यमंत्री कौन होगा। शाम 4 बजकर 15 मिनट पर मुख्य पर्यवेक्षक राजनाथ सिंह ने पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री वसुंधरा राजे को एक पर्ची दी। राजे ने वो पर्ची खोलकर पढी तो उस पर भजनलाल शर्मा का नाम लिखा हुआ था। जैसे ही राजे ने भजनलाल शर्मा का नाम पुकारा को बीजेपी मुख्यालय में सन्नाटा पसर गया। कुछ देर बार राजनाथ सिंह बोले कि कोई और नाम हो तो बताएं। चूंकि यह नाम केंद्रीय नेतृत्व यानी पीएम मोदी ने तय किया था। ऐसे में आपत्ति होने का सवाल ही नहीं था। सब विधायकों ने सहमति दी और भजनलाल शर्मा मुख्यमंत्री घोषित कर दिए गए।

Met JP Nadda under the shelter of Giriraj Maharaj
BJP national president JP Nadda once came to Govardhan ji to have darshan of Giriraj Maharaj. Those days Bhajanlal Sharma met him for the first time. Although even before this, Bhajanlal had been working in various positions in Yuva Morcha, but after meeting Nadda, he changed himself. He became active in the party and started work without yearning for any post. Later, Bhajan Lal started deciding the outline of every program of the party. No matter who is the state president of the party, who will speak in big programs, how long will it last and who will speak on the stage. It was Bhajanlal Sharma's job to decide this. Usually he used to run the stage himself.

PM Modi was looking for a loyal and trustworthy leader
Even before the assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was looking for a loyal, hardworking and trustworthy leader in Rajasthan. PM Modi gave the task to Amit Shah and JP Nadda to find a leader in Rajasthan who would be far away from factionalism and controversies. Party's national president JP Nadda checked the records of every worker of the organization. Took feedback from officials and workers of the organization. Names of many leaders came forward, one of them was Bhajanlal Sharma. The list of leaders who were loyal, hardworking and away from controversies reached the top leadership of the party.

Modi pondered and approved
PM Modi pondered over the list of every officer and worker associated with the organization in Rajasthan. Later he decided that a big responsibility had to be given to one of them. When the process of assembly elections started, Bhajanlal Sharma also asked for ticket from Bharatpur seat. The party made him its candidate from Sanganer seat of Jaipur instead of Bharatpur. Bharatpur seat was very difficult for the party because for the last several elections, BJP candidates were not able to win the elections there.

  Sanganer seat of Jaipur is the stronghold of BJP and it was considered the safest seat. One reason behind making Bhajanlal a candidate from Sanganer was that the party wanted to promote him. After winning elections in three states and being appointed Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the only name that fit into the caste equation and other formulas was Bhajanlal Sharma. PM Modi approved this name without any delay.

All speculations failed, new name emerged
After securing absolute majority in the assembly elections, many names were floated in the political circles before deciding the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. The names of many senior leaders including the former Chief Minister were discussed. Various speculations continued. Later it started being said that anything can happen in BJP. A surprising name may emerge here.

This is what happened. Till 4 pm on Tuesday 12th December no one had any idea who would be the Chief Minister. At 4.15 pm, Chief Observer Rajnath Singh gave a slip to former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. When Raje opened the slip and read it, the name of Bhajanlal Sharma was written on it. As soon as Raje called out the name of Bhajanlal Sharma, there was silence in the BJP headquarters. Rajnath Singh said for some time that if there is any other name, please tell. Since this name was decided by the central leadership i.e. PM Modi. In such a situation there was no question of any objection. All the MLAs agreed and Bhajanlal Sharma was declared the Chief Minister.
