हर वर्ष कार्तिक कृष्ण पक्ष की त्रयोदशी तिथि को धनतेरस का पर्व मनाया जाता है। इसी तिथि पर भगवान धन्वंतरि सोने के कलश के साथ प्रकट हुए थे। साथ ही त्रयोदशी के दिन ही आयुर्वेद के देवता धन्वंतरि जी की जयंती भी मनाई जाती है। इस साल 10 नवंबर को धनतेरस है। धनतेरस पर नई चीजों की खरीदारी का विशेष महत्व होता है। ऐसी मान्यता है जो कोई भी धनतेरस के दिन खरीदारी करता है, उसके घर पर सुख और समृद्धि आती है। मान्यता है कि धनतेरस के दिन खरीदी गई वस्तुएं कई वर्षों तक शुभ फल प्रदान करती हैं। ऐसे में चलिए जानते हैं इस साल धनतेरस पर खरीदारी का शुभ मुहूर्त, महत्व और इस दिन क्या खरीदें क्या नहीं... 

धनतेरस पर खरीदारी का शुभ मुहूर्त 
धनतेरस पर शुभ मुहूर्त में खरीदारी करना अच्छा माना जाता है। पंचांग के अनुसार धनतेरस के दिन यानी 10 नवंबर को दोपहर 12 बजकर 35 मिनट से लेकर अगले दिन यानी 11 नवंबर की सुबह तक खरीदारी करने का शुभ मुहूर्त है। 

धनतेरस लक्ष्मी पूजा मुहूर्त
धनतेरस के पावन पर्व पर भगवान गणेश, मां लक्ष्मी और कुबेर देवता की पूजा की जाती है। धनतेरस पर लक्ष्मी पूजा का शुभ मुहूर्त 10 नवंबर, शुक्रवार को शाम 05 बजकर 47 मिनट से शाम 07 बजकर 47 मिनट तक रहेगा। 
धनतेरस पर खरीदारी का महत्व
धनतेरस पर शुभ मुहूर्त में बर्तन और सोने-चांदी के अलावा वाहन, जमीन-जायदाद के सौदे, लग्जरी चीजें और घर में काम आने वाले अन्य दूसरी चीजों की खरीदारी करना शुभ माना जाता है। मान्यता है कि धनतेरस के दिन खरीदी गई चल-अचल संपत्ति में तेरह गुणा वृद्धि होती है। 

धनतेरस पर क्या खरीदें?
धनतेरस के दिन सोना-चांदी के अलावा बर्तन, वाहन और कुबेर यंत्र खरीदना शुभ होता है। 
इसके अलावा झाड़ू खरीदना भी अच्छा माना जाता है। मान्यता है इस दिन झाड़ू खरीदने से मां लक्ष्मी मेहरबान रहती हैं।
वहीं यदि धनतेरस के दिन आप कोई कीमती वस्तु नहीं खरीद पा रहे हैं तो साबुत धनिया जरूर घर ले आएं। 
मान्यता है इससे धन की कभी कमी नहीं होती है। इसके अलावा आप गोमती चक्र भी खरीद सकते हैं। इससे मां लक्ष्मी प्रसन्न होती हैं।

धनतेरस पर क्या नहीं खरीदें?
इस दिन लोहा या लोहे से बनी वस्तुएं घर लाना शुभ नहीं माना जाता है। ज्योतिष के अनुसार यदि आप धनतेरस के दिन लोहे से बनी कोई भी वस्तु घर लाते हैं, तो घर में दुर्भाग्य का प्रवेश हो जाता है। 
धनतेरस पर एल्युमिनियम या स्टील की वस्तुएं न खरीदें। मान्यता है कि स्टील या एल्युमिनियम से बने बर्तन या अन्य कोई सामान खरीदने से मां लक्ष्मी रूठ जाती हैं।
ज्योतिष के अनुसार यदि आप धनतेरस के दिन घर में कोई भी प्लास्टिक की चीज लेकर आएंगे तो इससे धन के स्थायित्व और बरकत में कमी आ सकती है, इसलिए धनतेरस के दिन प्लास्टिक की वस्तुएं भी न खरीदें। 
धनतेरस के शुभ अवसर पर शीशे या कांच की बनी चीजें भी बिल्कुल नहीं खरीदनी चाहिए। 
ज्योतिष के अनुसार धनतेरस के दिन चीनी मिट्टी या बोन चाइना की कोई भी वस्तु नहीं खरीदनी चाहिए।

धनतेरस पर करें ये उपाय
धनतेरस पर भगवान धन्वंतरि, माता लक्ष्मी, कुबेर, यमराज और भगवान गणेश जी की पूजा करें। 
धनतेरस के दिन घर और बाहर 13 दीपक जलाने से बीमारियों को दूर किया जा सकता है। 
दान करना पुण्य कर्म है। माना जाता है कि, दान करने से पिछले जन्म के पाप धुल जाते है। धनतेरस के दिन दान करने का विशेष महत्व होता है। 
इस दिन यदि आप सूर्यास्त से पहले दान करते हैं तो आपको धन की कमी नहीं होगी। हालांकि इस दिन सफेद कपड़ा, चावल, चीनी आदि का दान नहीं करना है।  
धनतेरस पर पशुओं की पूजा करने से आर्थिक परेशानियां दूर होती हैं। 

धनतेरस कथा
पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार जब अमृत प्राप्ति के लिए देवताओं और दानवों के द्वारा समुद्र मंथन किया गया था, तो एक-एक करके उससे क्रमशः चौदह रत्नों की प्राप्ति हुई। समुद्र मंथन के बाद सबसे अंत में अमृत की प्राप्ति हुई थी। कहा जाता है कि भगवान धन्वंतरि समुद्र से अपने हाथों में अमृत कलश लेकर प्रकट हुए थे। जिस दिन भगवान धन्वंतरि अमृत कलश लेकर प्रकट हुए वह कार्तिक मास के कृष्ण पक्ष की त्रयोदशी तिथि थी, इसलिए धनतेरस या धनत्रयोदशी के दिन धन्वंतरि देव के पूजन का विधान है।

According to the legend, when the ocean was churned by gods and demons to obtain nectar, fourteen gems were obtained from it one by one. After the churning of the ocean, nectar was obtained last. It is said that Lord Dhanvantari appeared from the sea with a pot of nectar in his hands. The day on which Lord Dhanvantari appeared with the nectar pot was Trayodashi date of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month, hence there is a tradition of worshiping Lord Dhanvantari on the day of Dhanteras or Dhantrayodashi.
