 कहते हैं राजनीति में सब कुछ संभव है. यदि जनता चाहे तो एक गरीब के सिर पर भी ताज सजा दे और न चाहे तो अच्छे-अच्छे पद और ओहदे वाले लोगों को भी हरा दे. भरतपुर की राजनीति में भी ऐसा ही एक वाकया हुआ था. जब एक साधारण परिवार के एक 9वीं पास व्यक्ति ने चुनावी मैदान में पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री व आईएएस अधिकारी को हराया था. वर्तमान में जिले की वैर विधानसभा सीट से भाजपा प्रत्याशी बहादुर सिंह कोली एक साधारण परिवार से आते हैं, लेकिन राजनीतिक समर में पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री जगन्नाथ पहाड़िया और उनके आईएएस बेटे को मात दे चुके हैं. रोचक बात यह है कि अभी भी उनका मुकाबला कांग्रेस सरकार के पीडब्ल्यूडी मंत्री भजनलाल जाटव से है.

पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री को दी मात : 1961 में भरतपुर जिले के नदबई क्षेत्र के गांव कबई में जन्मे बहादुर सिंह कोली ने 1999 के एमपी चुनाव से राजनीति में पदार्पण किया था. 1999 में बहादुर सिंह कोली भाजपा प्रत्याशी के रूप में वैर लोकसभा से मैदान में थे. बहादुर सिंह कोली का मुकाबला कांग्रेस प्रत्याशी व राजस्थान के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री जगन्नाथ पहाड़िया से था. तब तक जगन्नाथ पहाड़िया चार बार सांसद, तीन बार विधायक, राजस्थान के मुख्यमंत्री और बिहार के राज्यपाल भी रह चुके थे, जबकि बहादुर सिंह कोली के सियासी सफर की शुरुआत थी. चुनाव में बहादुर सिंह कोली ने 2 लाख, 34,881 वोट हासिल कर पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री जगन्नाथ पहाड़िया को 33,332 वोटों से हराया था.

आईएएस को भी दी शिकस्त : राजनीतिक शुरुआत अच्छी होने के बाद बहादुर सिंह कोली 2008 में वैर विधानसभा सीट से भाजपा प्रत्याशी के रूप में विधानसभा का चुनाव लड़े. मैदान में कई प्रत्याशी थे, जिनमें पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री जगन्नाथ पहाड़िया के बेटे संजय पहाड़िया भी एक थे. संजय पहाड़िया कांग्रेस के टिकट पर मैदान में थे, लेकिन बहादुर सिंह कोली की जीत हुई और संजय पहाड़िया तीसरे स्थान पर रहे थे. उसके बाद 2013 के विधानसभा चुनाव में फिर से बहादुर सिंह कोली वैर से भाजपा प्रत्याशी के रूप में चुनाव लड़े. इस बार मुकाबला पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री जगन्नाथ पहाड़िया के बेटे और आईएएस अधिकारी ओमप्रकाश पहाड़िया से था. ओमप्रकाश पहाड़िया कांग्रेस प्रत्याशी के रूप में मैदान में थे. एक बार फिर बहादुर सिंह कोली 53,649 वोट हासिल कर विजयी हुए. आईएएस ओमप्रकाश पहाड़िया को 40,226 मतों से संतोष करना पड़ा था.

दो बार विधायक व दो बार सांसद रहे कोली : बहादुर सिंह कोली अब तक दो बार विधायक व दो बार सांसद रह चुके हैं. 1999 में वैर लोकसभा से व 2014 में भरतपुर लोकसभा सीट सांसद रहे. वहीं, 2008 और 2013 में वैर विधानसभा से विधायक चुने गए.

वैर विधानसभा से भाजपा प्रत्याशी के रूप में बहादुर सिंह कोली फिर से चुनाव मैदान में हैं. इनका मुकाबला कांग्रेस प्रत्याशी भजनलाल जाटव से है. भजनलाल जाटव वर्तमान में राज्य की कांग्रेस सरकार में पीडब्ल्यूडी मंत्री व सिटिंग एमएलए भी हैं. अब दोनों की किस्मत का पिटारा 3 दिसंबर को खुलेगा.

The interesting thing is that he is still in competition with Congress government's PWD minister Bhajanlal Jatav.

Defeated the former Chief Minister: Born in 1961 in village Kabai of Nadbai area of Bharatpur district, Bahadur Singh Koli made his debut in politics in the 1999 MP elections. In 1999, Bahadur Singh Koli was contesting from Vair Lok Sabha as a BJP candidate. Bahadur Singh Koli was contesting against Congress candidate and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Jagannath Pahadia. By then, Jagannath Pahadia had been a four-time MP, thrice MLA, Chief Minister of Rajasthan and Governor of Bihar, while Bahadur Singh Koli's political journey was just beginning. In the elections, Bahadur Singh Koli secured 2 lakh, 34,881 votes and defeated former Chief Minister Jagannath Pahadia by 33,332 votes.

IAS also defeated: After a good political start, Bahadur Singh Koli contested the assembly elections in 2008 as a BJP candidate from Vair assembly seat. There were many candidates in the fray, among which Sanjay Pahadia, son of former Chief Minister Jagannath Pahadia, was also one. Sanjay Pahadia was in the fray on Congress ticket, but Bahadur Singh Koli won and Sanjay Pahadia stood third. After that, Bahadur Singh again contested the 2013 assembly elections as a BJP candidate from Koli Vair. This time the contest was against IAS officer Omprakash Pahadia, son of former Chief Minister Jagannath Pahadia. Omprakash Pahadia was in the fray as a Congress candidate. Once again Bahadur Singh Koli emerged victorious by securing 53,649 votes. IAS Omprakash Pahadia had to be satisfied with 40,226 votes.

Koli has been MLA twice and MP twice: Bahadur Singh Koli has been MLA twice and MP till now. He was MP from Vair Lok Sabha seat in 1999 and Bharatpur Lok Sabha seat in 2014. At the same time, in 2008 and 2013, he was elected MLA from Vair Assembly.

Bahadur Singh Koli is again contesting as BJP candidate from Vair Assembly. His competition is with Congress candidate Bhajanlal Jatav. Bhajanlal Jatav is currently the PWD minister and sitting MLA in the Congress government of the state. Now the box of luck of both will open on 3rd December.
