आईपीएल की आज नीलामी दुबई में चल रही है. इस नीलामी में ऑस्ट्रेलियाई गेंदबार मिचेल स्टार्क सबसे महंगे खिलाड़ी बने. मिचेल को 24 करोड़ 75 लाख में कोलकाता नाईट राइडर्स ने खरीदकर आईपीएल के इतिहास का सबसे महंगा खिलाड़ी बना दिया. दूसरे सबसे महंगे खिलाड़ी भी ऑस्ट्रेलियाई गेंदबाज पेट कमिंस बने. पेट कमिंस को सनराइजर्स हैदराबाद ने 20 करोड़ 50 लाख में खरीदा. डेरेल मिचेल को चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स ने 14 करोड़ रुपए में खरीदा. अगर सबसे महंगे भारतीय खिलाड़ी की बात करें तो हर्षल पटेल को पंजाब किंग्स ने 11.75 करोड़ रुपए में अपने नाम किया.

बता दें कि दुबई में होने वाले इस मिनी ऑक्शन में 13 देशों को कुल 332 खिलाड़ियों के भाग्य का फैसला होना था. इसमें से 216 खिलाड़ी भारतीय हैं जबकि 116 खिलाड़ी विदेशी हैं.

नीलामी से पहले रॉयल चैलेंजर्स बेंगलोर द्वारा छोड़े गए हर्षल पर नीलामी के दौरान कई टीमों ने दिलचस्पी दिखाई और भारतीय टीम से बाहर चल रहे इस तेज गेंदबाज को अंतत: पंजाब किंग्स ने 11 करोड़ 75 लाख रुपये में खरीदा.

एकदिवसीय विश्व कप में प्रभावशाली प्रदर्शन करने वाले न्यूजीलैंड के बल्लेबाज मिचेल के लिए चेन्नई सुपरकिंग्स ने 14 करोड़ रुपये की भारी भरकम बोली लगाई.

कमिंस के लिए फ्रेंचाइजियों के बीच काफी रुचि दिखी. मुंबई इंडयिन्स, रॉयल चैलेंजर्स बेंगलोर, सुपरकिंग्स और सनराइजर्स ने उनके लिए लगातार बोली लगाई.

अंत में कमिंस सनराइजर्स की झोली में गए और आईपीएल इतिहास के सबसे महंगे खिलाड़ी बने. कमिंस ने इंग्लैंड के सैम कुरेन को पीछे छोड़ा जिनके लिए पिछले साल पंजाब किंग्स ने 18 करोड़ 50 लाख रुपये खर्च किए थे.

आईपीएल नीलामी में कमिंस पर पहली बार बड़ी बोली नहीं लगी है. 2020 के टूर्नामेंट से पहले कोलकाता नाइट राइडर्स ने उन्हें 15 करोड़ 50 लाख रुपये में अपने साथ जोड़ा था.

भारत के खिलाफ विश्व कप फाइनल में मैच विजयी शतक जड़ने के अलावा रोहित शर्मा की अगुआई वाली टीम के खिलाफ विश्व टेस्ट चैंपियनशिप फाइनल में शानदार प्रदर्शन करने वाले हेड के लिए गत चैंपियन सुपरकिंग्स और सनराइजर्स ने बोली लगाई.

आईपीएल 2016 चैंपियन सनराइजर्स ने अंतत: इस विकेटकीपर बल्लेबाज को अपने साथ जोड़ा.

सनराइजर्स के स्पिन गेंदबाजी कोच मुथैया मुरलीधरन ने कहा, ‘‘हम उसे (ट्रेविस हेड को) अपने साथ जोड़ना चाहते थे क्योंकि हमें पारी का आगाज करने वाले बाएं हाथ के बल्लेबाज की जरूरत थी. इसके अलावा वह स्पिन गेंदबाजी भी कर सकता है.’’

उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘मैंने कभी नहीं सोचा था कि हम उसे इस कीमत पर अपने साथ जोड़ लेंगे क्योंकि आस्ट्रेलिया के लिए पिछले कुछ वर्षों में टी20 अंतरराष्ट्रीय और एकदिवसीय अंतरराष्ट्रीय में उनका प्रदर्शन शानदार रहा है.’’

एकदिवसीय विश्व कप में शानदार प्रदर्शन करने वाले न्यूजीलैंड के बल्लेबाज रचिन रविंद्र को सुपरकिंग्स ने एक करोड़ 80 लाख रुपये में खरीदा. उनका आधार मूल्य 50 लाख रुपये था.

वेस्टइंडीज के टी20 कप्तान रोवमैन पावेल के लिए राजस्थान रॉयल्स ने सात करोड़ 40 लाख रुपये खर्च किए.

पावेल का आधार मूल्य दो करोड़ रुपये था और वह इस छोटी नीलामी में नीलामी के लिए आने वाले पहले खिलाड़ी थे. तीन फ्रेंचाइजी ने पावेल को अपने साथ जोड़ने में दिलचस्पी दिलाई थी और अंतत: राजस्थान रॉयल्स ने इस आक्रामक बल्लेबाज को अपने साथ जोड़ा. पावेल कैरेबियाई प्रीमियर लीग (सीपीएल) में भी रॉयल्स की टीम बारबडोस रॉयल्स की अगुआई करते हैं.

ऑस्ट्रेलिया के पूर्व कप्तान स्टीव स्मिथ, भारत के मनीष पांडे और दक्षिण अफ्रीका के रिली रोसेयु के लिए किसी ने बोली नहीं लगाई. इंग्लैंड के हैरी ब्रूक को दिल्ली कैपिटल्स ने चार करोड़ रुपये में खरीदा.

मुंबई इंडियन्स ने दक्षिण अफ्रीका के युवा तेज गेंदबाज गेराल्ड कोएटजी पर पांच करोड़ रुपये खर्च किए जबकि भारतीय ऑलराउंडर शारदुल ठाकुर चार करोड़ रुपये में एक बार फिर चेन्नई सुपरकिंग्स से जुड़े.

The second most expensive player also became Australian bowler Pete Cummins. Pete Cummins was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 20 crore 50 lakh. Darrell Mitchell was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14 crore. If we talk about the most expensive Indian player, then Harshal Patel was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 11.75 crore.

In the end, Cummins went to Sunrisers and became the most expensive player in IPL history. Cummins left England's Sam Curran behind, for whom Punjab Kings had spent Rs 18 crore 50 lakh last year.

This is not the first time that a big bid has been placed on Cummins in the IPL auction. Before the 2020 tournament, Kolkata Knight Riders had signed him for Rs 15 crore 50 lakh.

Defending champions Super Kings and Sunrisers bid for Head, who performed brilliantly in the World Test Championship final against the Rohit Sharma-led team apart from scoring a match-winning century in the World Cup final against India.

IPL 2016 champion Sunrisers finally added this wicketkeeper batsman.

Sunrisers spin bowling coach Muttiah Muralitharan said, “We wanted to add him (Travis Head) because we needed a left-handed batsman to open the innings. Apart from this, he can also bowl spin.

He said, "I never thought that we would sign him at this price because his performance in T20 International and ODI in the last few years has been excellent for Australia."

New Zealand batsman Rachin Ravindra, who performed brilliantly in the ODI World Cup, was bought by Super Kings for Rs 1 crore 80 lakh. His base price was Rs 50 lakh.

Rajasthan Royals spent Rs 7 crore 40 lakh for West Indies T20 captain Rovman Powell.

Powell's base price was Rs 2 crore and he was the first player to come up for auction in this mini auction. Three franchises had shown interest in signing Powell and finally Rajasthan Royals signed this aggressive batsman. Powell also leads the Royals team Barbados Royals in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

No one bid for former Australia captain Steve Smith, India's Manish Pandey and South Africa's Riley Roseau. England's Harry Brook was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 4 crore.

Mumbai Indians spent Rs 5 crore on young South African fast bowler Gerald Coetzee, while Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur once again joined Chennai Super Kings for Rs 4 crore.
