नई दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन के प्लेटफार्म नंबर 13 और 14 पर शनिवार देर रात उस समय भगदड़ मच गई जब यात्रियों के बीच प्रयागराज जा रही दो ट्रेनों के रद्द होने की अफवाह फैल गई।

इस दर्दनाक हादसे में अब तक 18 लोगों की मौत की पुष्टि हुई है। कई घायल हैं जिनका इलाज किया जा रहा है। रेलवे ने पूरे हादसे में नजर जमाई हुई हैं।

हादसा कैसे हुआ इसको लेकर उत्तर रेलवे के सीपीआरओ हिमांशु शेखर का भी बयान आया है। उन्होंने कहा कि जिस वक्त घटना घटी, उस वक्त फ्लेटफॉर्म 14 पर पटना की ओर जाने वाली मगध एक्सप्रेस और प्लेटफॉर्म 15 पर जम्मू की ओर जाने वाली संपर्क क्रांति खड़ी थी। इसी दौरान प्लेटफॉर्म पर भीड़ थी और कई यात्री फिसल कर गिर गए। जिससे यह दुखद हादसा हुआ।

स्टेशन पर कुली का काम करने वाले रिंकू मीणा ने बताया, 'भगदड़ के समय मैं पुल के ऊपर खड़ा था। ट्रेन पहले प्लेटफार्म नंबर 14 पर आनी थी। अनाउंसमेंट में उसका प्लेटफार्म बदल दिया गया। उसी वजह से सीढ़ियों पर बैठे लोगों में अफरा-तफरी मच गई। सीढ़ियों पर बैठे लोग भीड़ के नीचे दब गए और उनकी जान चली गई।'

हादसे के बाद रेलवे ने 4 विशेष ट्रेनों की व्यवस्था कर प्लेटफॉर्म पर भीड़ का दबाव कम किया। रेलवे ने घटना की हाई लेवल जांच के आदेश दिए हैं।

रेलवे ने मृतकों के परिजनों को 10 लाख रुपये, वहीं गंभीर रूप से घायल यात्रियों को 2.5 लाख रुपये और मामूली रूप से घायल यात्रियों को 1 लाख रुपये का मुआवजा देने का ऐलान किया है।

रविवार सुबह 06 बजे तक, कुल 71 ट्रेनें चलाई गईं और इन ट्रेनों में 1.60 लाख से अधिक यात्री सवार हुए। वहीं, शनिवार को कुल 339 ट्रेनें चलायी गई और इनमें 14.76 लाख से अधिक यात्रियों ने सफर की।

रेलवे ने इस बात की भी पुष्टि की कि सभी निर्धारित ट्रेनें अपने नियमित कार्यक्रम के अनुसार चल रही हैं और विशेष ट्रेनों की व्यवस्था भी की गई है। इसके अलावा, बिना आरक्षण वाली ट्रेनें भी यात्री की मांग के अनुसार चलाई जा रही हैं।

राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू ने हादसे पर दुख जताया। इसके साथ ही उन्होंने घायलों के जल्द स्वस्थ होने की कामना की। राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू ने सोशल मीडिया प्लेटफॉर्म एक्स पर लिखा, 'नई दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन पर मची भगदड़ में लोगों की मौत की खबर सुनकर बहुत दुख हुआ। मैं शोक संतप्त परिवारों के प्रति अपनी हार्दिक संवेदना व्यक्त करती हूं और घायलों के शीघ्र स्वस्थ होने की प्रार्थना करती हूं।

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने इस घटना पर संवेदनाएं व्यक्त की। प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने ‘एक्स’ पर एक पोस्ट में कहा, 'नई दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन पर हुई भगदड़ (जैसी स्थिति) से व्यथित हूं। मेरी संवेदनाएं उन सभी लोगों के साथ हैं, जिन्होंने अपने प्रियजनों को खोया है। मैं प्रार्थना करता हूं कि घायल लोग जल्दी ठीक हो जाएं।

Rinku Meena, who works as a porter at the station, said, 'I was standing on the bridge at the time of the stampede. The train was supposed to come to platform number 14 first. The platform was changed in the announcement. Due to this, there was chaos among the people sitting on the stairs. People sitting on the stairs got buried under the crowd and lost their lives.'

After the accident, the railways arranged 4 special trains to reduce the pressure of the crowd on the platform. The railways have ordered a high-level inquiry into the incident.
