माध्यमिक शिक्षा बोर्ड अजमेर की दसवीं क्लास की परीक्षा का रिजल्ट आने के बाद से ही मायूस था। उसके 57 परसेंट मार्क्स आए थे। हनीफ खान के बेटे वाहिद को ये मार्क्स कम लग रहे थे। उसे ज्यादा मार्क्स की उम्मीद थी। गुरुवार को घर से निकल गया। काफी समय तक नहीं आया तो परिजनों से उसे ढूंढना शुरू किया।
नहर के मलकीसर पम्पिंग स्टेशन पर वाहिद की चप्पल मिली। परिजनों ने पुलिस को इस घटना के बारे में जानकारी दी। इस पर पुलिस ने एसडीआरएफ की टीम भेजी। जिसने काफी देर मशक्कत के बाद वाहिद का शव निकाल लिया। वो काफी आगे निकल गया था। उसका शव रात करीब आठ बजे मिला। शव बहता हुआ करीब पांच किलोमीटर दूर चला गया। मोखमपुरा गांव के पास नहर से उसका शव बरामद हुआ।
