बोलने में असक्षम युवती से शादी कर दहेज की मांग, पति व ससुराल पक्ष पर गंभीर आरोप

आड़सर बास निवासी 26 वर्षीय पूजा ब्राह्मण ने बीकानेर पुलिस थाने में पति तथा ससुराल पक्ष पर गंभीर आरोप लगाते हुए दहेज उत्पीड़न का मामला दर्ज करवाया है। पीड़िता के अनुसार उसे जन्म से ही बोलने में दिक्कत है, जिसका फायदा उठाते हुए आरोपियों ने पहले धोखे से विवाह किया और बाद में लगातार मानसिक व शारीरिक प्रताड़ना दी।

पुलिस को दी रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, करीब पांच वर्ष पहले मोहता चौक बीकानेर निवासी मदनलाल अपने बेटे जितेंद्र के लिए विवाह का प्रस्ताव लेकर पीड़िता के घर आया था। पीड़िता की बोलने की समस्या के बावजूद उसने और उसके परिवार ने यह कहते हुए विवाह के लिए सहमति दी कि उन्हें इससे कोई परेशानी नहीं होगी। मदनलाल ने यह भी कहा कि उसके बेटे की उम्र अधिक हो गई है और कोई रिश्ता नहीं मिल रहा, इसलिए वह पूजा को जीवनसाथी बनाना चाहता है।

पीड़िता के पिता ने ससुराल पक्ष की मांग के अनुसार दान-दहेज देकर 21 अप्रैल 2021 को विवाह सम्पन्न करवाया। लेकिन शादी के कुछ दिन बाद ही पीड़िता के साथ दुर्व्यवहार शुरू हो गया। रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, पति जितेंद्र उसे नशे की गोलियां देता, मारपीट करता और घंटों कमरे में बंद रखता था। पीड़िता ने आरोप लगाया है कि उसका ससुर मदनलाल अश्लील हरकतें करता था, जबकि सास मैनादेवी और देवर ओमप्रकाश भी मानसिक प्रताड़ना में शामिल थे।

पीड़िता ने बताया कि तीन वर्षों से अधिक समय पहले आरोपी उसे उसके पीहर छोड़ गए और तब से कोई लेने नहीं आया। जब पीहर पक्ष ने बातचीत कर लड़की को वापस ले जाने का आग्रह किया तो आरोपियों ने दो लाख रुपये नकद और बाइक की मांग कर दी। पैसे न मिलने पर वे लगातार धमकियां देने लगे।

पीड़िता के अनुसार, अपनी जन्मजात समस्या के कारण वह खुलकर विरोध नहीं कर पाती थी और इसी का फायदा उठाकर आरोपी परिवार ने उसका शोषण किया। परिजनों ने भी कई बार समझाइश की, लेकिन आरोपियों के व्यवहार में कोई सुधार नहीं आया।

पुलिस ने पूजा की शिकायत पर पति जितेंद्र, ससुर मदनलाल, सास मैनादेवी और देवर ओमप्रकाश के खिलाफ दहेज प्रताड़ना, मारपीट, धमकी एवं अन्य धाराओं में मुकदमा दर्ज कर जांच शुरू कर दी है। मामले की जांच एसआई मोहनलाल को सौंपी गई है।

यह घटना समाज में कमजोर और दिव्यांग महिलाओं के प्रति बढ़ते अपराधों और शोषण को उजागर करती है। पीड़िता के पिता का कहना है कि उन्होंने अपने स्तर पर सबकुछ किया, लेकिन बेटी की सुरक्षा और सम्मान के लिए अब सिर्फ कानून से ही न्याय की उम्मीद है।

पुलिस के अनुसार, सभी पहलुओं की जांच की जा रही है और दोषियों पर सख्त कार्रवाई की जाएगी।

Marrying a woman who is unable to speak and demanding dowry, serious allegations against the husband and in-laws

26-year-old Pooja Brahmin, a resident of Aadasar Bas, has filed a dowry harassment case at the Bikaner police station, leveling serious allegations against her husband and in-laws. According to the victim, she has had a speech impairment since birth, and the accused took advantage of this to first marry her fraudulently and later subject her to continuous mental and physical torture.

According to the police report, about five years ago, Madanlal, a resident of Mohta Chowk, Bikaner, came to the victim's house with a marriage proposal for his son, Jitendra. Despite the victim's speech impairment, she and her family agreed to the marriage, stating that they would have no problem with it. Madanlal also stated that his son was growing old and unable to find a suitable match, so he wanted Pooja as his life partner.

The victim's father arranged the marriage on April 21, 2021, by providing the dowry demanded by the in-laws. However, the abuse began within a few days of the wedding. According to the report, her husband, Jitendra, would drug her, beat her, and lock her in a room for hours. The victim alleged that her father-in-law, Madanlal, engaged in obscene acts, while her mother-in-law, Mainadevi, and brother-in-law, Omprakash, were also involved in the mental torture.

The victim stated that the accused left her at her parents' home more than three years ago, and no one has come to retrieve her since. When her parents attempted to negotiate and return the girl, the accused demanded two lakh rupees in cash and a motorcycle. When they refused, they continued to threaten her.

According to the victim, due to her congenital condition, she was unable to openly protest, and the accused family exploited this. Her family counseled her several times, but the accused's behavior remained unchanged.

On Pooja's complaint, the police have registered a case against her husband, Jitendra, father-in-law, Madanlal, mother-in-law, Mainadevi, and brother-in-law, Omprakash, under various sections of dowry harassment, assault, intimidation, and other charges and have initiated an investigation. SI Mohanlal has been assigned to investigate the case.

This incident highlights the increasing crimes and exploitation against vulnerable and disabled women in society. The victim's father says he did everything he could, but now he can only hope for justice from the law for his daughter's safety and dignity.

According to the police, all aspects are being investigated and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
