राजस्थान सरकार ने खनन एवं पेट्रोलियम विभाग में एक बड़ा प्रशासनिक कदम उठाते हुए बीकानेर में पदस्थ खनन अभियंता महेश प्रकाश पुरोहित को निलंबित कर दिया है। विभाग द्वारा जारी आदेश के अनुसार, पुरोहित के खिलाफ राजस्थान सिविल सेवा (वर्गीकरण, नियंत्रण एवं अपील) नियम 1958 के तहत अनुशासनात्मक कार्यवाही प्रस्तावित है। इसी कारण उन्हें तत्काल प्रभाव से निलंबित किया गया है।

संयुक्त शासन सचिव अरविंद सारस्वत द्वारा जारी आदेश में स्पष्ट किया गया है कि पुरोहित का निलंबन काल निदेशालय खनि अभियंता, उदयपुर रहेगा। आदेश के बाद विभाग के भीतर और बीकानेर के प्रशासनिक हलकों में चर्चा तेज हो गई है। सूत्रों के अनुसार, पिछले काफी समय से महेश प्रकाश पुरोहित के कामकाज को लेकर सरकार को लगातार शिकायतें मिल रही थीं।

❗ अवैध खनन रोकने में असफलता बनी मुख्य वजह

प्रदेश में अवैध खनन की रोकथाम को लेकर सरकार सख्त रुख अपनाए हुए है। ऐसे में विभागीय निगरानी में खामियां सामने आने पर कार्रवाई होना तय था। बताया जा रहा है कि बीकानेर क्षेत्र में अवैध खनन की गतिविधियां बढ़ने के बाद भी पुरोहित आवश्यक कार्रवाई करने में विफल रहे। कई जनप्रतिनिधियों, सामाजिक संगठनों और ग्रामीणों ने भी अवैध उत्खनन की शिकायतें विभाग तक पहुंचाई थीं।

स्थानीय लोगों के अनुसार, खनिज विभाग की लापरवाही से मरुस्थलीय क्षेत्र में पर्यावरणीय नुकसान भी हो रहा था। कई बार अवैध खनन की भनक लगने के बावजूद तत्काल प्रभाव से कार्रवाई नहीं होने के कारण पुरोहित की भूमिका सवालों के घेरे में थी।

राज्य सरकार हाल ही में कई विभागों में पारदर्शिता बढ़ाने और भ्रष्टाचार व लापरवाही पर नियंत्रण करने के लिए लगातार कदम उठा रही है। खनन विभाग इस समय खास निगरानी में है, क्योंकि प्रदेश के कई हिस्सों में अवैध उत्खनन के मामले सामने आते रहते हैं।

महेश प्रकाश पुरोहित के निलंबन को इसी अभियान का हिस्सा माना जा रहा है। विभागीय सूत्रों का कहना है कि आने वाले दिनों में खनन विभाग में और भी कार्रवाई हो सकती है।

हालांकि पुरोहित की ओर से अभी तक किसी आधिकारिक प्रतिक्रिया की जानकारी नहीं मिली है, लेकिन विभाग के भीतर यह कदम एक कड़ी चेतावनी के रूप में देखा जा रहा है।

राजस्थान सरकार ने हाल ही में कई जिलों में अवैध खनन के खिलाफ संयुक्त पुलिस–खनन विभाग अभियान चलाया है। बीकानेर, जैसलमेर, नागौर और जोधपुर में कई डंपर, ट्रैक्टर और माइनिंग मशीनें जब्त कर कार्रवाई की गई।

According to the order issued by the department, disciplinary action is proposed against Purohit under the Rajasthan Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1958. Therefore, he has been suspended with immediate effect.

The order issued by Joint Secretary of Administration, Arvind Saraswat, clarified that Purohit's suspension period will be at the Directorate of Mining Engineers, Udaipur. Following the order, discussions have intensified within the department and in Bikaner's administrative circles. According to sources, the government had been receiving continuous complaints regarding Mahesh Prakash Purohit's work for quite some time.

The government is taking a strict stance on preventing illegal mining in the state. Therefore, action is inevitable if lapses in departmental oversight are discovered. It is being reported that Purohit failed to take necessary action even after the increase in illegal mining activities in the Bikaner region. Many public representatives, social organizations, and villagers had also filed complaints with the department regarding illegal mining.

According to local residents, the Mineral Department's negligence was also causing environmental damage in the desert region. Purohit's role was under scrutiny due to the lack of immediate action despite numerous reports of illegal mining.

The state government has recently been taking steps to increase transparency in various departments and curb corruption and negligence. The Mining Department is currently under special scrutiny, as cases of illegal mining continue to emerge in many parts of the state.

Mahesh Prakash Purohit's suspension is considered part of this campaign. Department sources say that further action may be taken against the Mining Department in the coming days.
