कन्नड़ फिल्म इंडस्ट्री से चौंकाने वाली खबर सामने आई है. एक्ट्रेस रान्या राव (Ranya Rao) को हाल ही में दुबई से 12 करोड़ रुपये का 14.8 किलोग्राम सोना तस्करी करने के आरोप में बेंगलुरु हवाई अड्डे पर गिरफ्तार किया गया. इसके बाद उन्हें अदालत में पेश किया गया, जिसके बाद एक्ट्रेस को 14 दिन की न्यायिक हिरासत (Ranya Rao arrested) में भेज दिया गया है. वहीं इसके बाद एक्ट्रेस के पिता भी चर्चा में आ गए हैं. 

ऐसे इसलिए क्योंकि रान्या के पिता रामचंद्र राव कर्नाटक कैडर के IPS अधिकारी हैं. वो DGP रैंक के अधिकारी हैं. मीडिया रिपोर्ट्स की मानें तो राजस्व खुफिया निदेशालय (DRI) ने एक गुप्त सूचना मिलने पर ये कार्रवाई की. उन्होंने दुबई से अमीरात की उड़ान से आने के बाद रान्या राव को गिरफ्तार कर लिया. सोमवार रात को गिरफ्तारी के बाद राव को एक आर्थिक अपराध अदालत में पेश किया गया, जिसने उन्हें 14 दिनों की न्यायिक हिरासत में भेज दिया. वहीं कहा जा रहा है कि रान्या के पिता डीजीपी रामचंद्र राव ने खुद को इस मामले से अलग कर लिया है.

डीआरआई अधिकारियों के अनुसार, रान्या बार-बार दुबई जाने और आने के कारण निगरानी में थीं. अधिकारियों ने पाया कि वो 15 दिनों के भीतर चार बार दुबई गई थीं जिससे अवैध गतिविधियों का संदेह पैदा हुआ था. ऐसे में इस भारत लौटने पर उनकी तलाशी हुई और फिर सोना मिलने पर उन्हें गिरफ्तार किया गया. तलाशी के दौरान पाया गया कि उन्होंने काफी मात्रा में सोना पहना हुआ था और कुछ सोने की छड़ें अपने कपड़ों में छिपाई थीं

कर्नाटक के चिकमगलूर में जन्मीं रान्या कन्नड़ सिनेमा की जानी-मानी एक्ट्रेस हैं. उन्होंने 2014 में आई फिल्म माणिक्य के जरिए एक्टिंग की दुनिया में कदम रखा था. इसके बाद वो तमिल फिल्म वाघा, पटाखी और मांझा में नजर आईं. 

फिलहाल अधिकारी इस बात की जांच कर रहे हैं कि क्या वो इन सबमें अकेली थीं या दुबई और भारत के बीच चल रहे किसी बड़े तस्करी नेटवर्क का हिस्सा हैं.

According to media reports, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) took this action after receiving a secret information. They arrested Ranya Rao after she arrived from Dubai by Emirates flight. After the arrest on Monday night, Rao was produced before an economic offenses court, which sent him to 14 days of judicial custody. It is being said that Ranya's father DGP Ramachandra Rao has distanced himself from this case.

According to DRI officials, Ranya was under surveillance due to frequent visits to and from Dubai. Officials found that she had visited Dubai four times within 15 days, which raised suspicion of illegal activities. In such a situation, on returning to India, she was searched and then arrested after gold was found. During the search, it was found that she was wearing a large amount of gold and had hidden some gold bars in her clothes.

Born in Chikmagalur, Karnataka, Ranya is a well-known actress of Kannada cinema. She entered the world of acting through the 2014 film Manikya. After this, she appeared in Tamil films Wagah, Patakhi and Manjha.

At present, officials are investigating whether she was alone in all this or is part of a large smuggling network running between Dubai and India.
