जयपुर/राजस्थान। प्रदेश में सड़क हादसों का ग्राफ लगातार बढ़ रहा है और यह सड़कें लोगों की जिंदगी छीन रही हैं। सरकारी आंकड़े चौंकाने वाले हैं—हर 44 मिनट में एक व्यक्ति की सड़क हादसे में मौत हो रही है।

साल 2022 में जहां 7,292 लोगों की मौत हुई थी, वहीं 2023 में यह संख्या बढ़कर 11,932 तक पहुंच गई, यानी एक ही साल में 62% की बढ़ोतरी। 2024 में भी स्थिति भयावह रही, जब कुल 24,705 सड़क दुर्घटनाएँ हुईं और इनमें 11,762 लोगों की मौत दर्ज की गई।

 जयपुर सबसे आगे

राजधानी जयपुर हादसों के मामले में सबसे ऊपर है। साल 2023 में यहां 2,914 सड़क दुर्घटनाएँ दर्ज हुईं। औसतन रोजाना 8 हादसे होते रहे, जिनमें 2,333 लोग घायल और 848 लोगों की मौत हुई।

 हादसों के बड़े कारण

अधिकांश सड़क हादसों में बिना हेलमेट ड्राइविंग, रॉन्ग साइड चलाना, ओवरलोडिंग, तेज गति और नशे में वाहन चलाना प्रमुख कारण सामने आए हैं।
हालांकि राज्य सरकार ने हेलमेट और सीट बेल्ट अभियान चलाए हैं, लेकिन आंकड़े बताते हैं कि जमीनी स्तर पर इनका असर अपेक्षित नहीं रहा।

While 7,292 people died in 2022, this number increased to 11,932 in 2023, a 62% increase in a single year. The situation remained dire in 2024 as well, with a total of 24,705 road accidents, resulting in 11,762 deaths.

Major causes of accidents

Driving without a helmet, driving on the wrong side, overloading, speeding, and drunk driving are the main causes of most road accidents.
Although the state government has launched helmet and seat belt campaigns, data shows that these have not had the desired impact on the ground.
