जयपुर। यौन उत्पीड़न के दोषी और आजीवन कारावास की सजा काट रहे आसाराम बापू को राजस्थान हाई कोर्ट से बड़ी राहत मिली है। कोर्ट ने उन्हें 6 महीने की अंतरिम जमानत (Interim Bail) प्रदान की है। यह राहत उन्हें मेडिकल ग्राउंड्स (स्वास्थ्य कारणों) के आधार पर दी गई है।

इस मामले की सुनवाई एक्टिंग मुख्य न्यायाधीश (CJ) संजीव प्रकाश शर्मा और न्यायमूर्ति की डिवीजन बेंच में हुई। दोनों पक्षों की दलीलें सुनने के बाद अदालत ने कहा कि आसाराम की मेडिकल रिपोर्ट के अनुसार उन्हें लगातार इलाज की जरूरत है, जिसे जेल में पूरा करना संभव नहीं है।

आसाराम की ओर से सुप्रीम कोर्ट के वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता देवदत्त कामत और अधिवक्ता यशपाल सिंह राजपुरोहित ने पैरवी की। उन्होंने कोर्ट में दलील दी कि आसाराम की उम्र अधिक है और वे कई गंभीर बीमारियों से पीड़ित हैं। लगातार स्वास्थ्य बिगड़ने के कारण उन्हें अस्पताल में भर्ती रहना पड़ता है। इस आधार पर कोर्ट से जमानत देने की मांग की गई थी।

कोर्ट ने सभी तथ्यों और मेडिकल दस्तावेजों की समीक्षा करने के बाद उन्हें छह महीने की जमानत प्रदान कर दी है। हालांकि, अदालत ने यह भी स्पष्ट किया कि जमानत की अवधि पूरी होने पर यदि स्वास्थ्य में सुधार हो जाता है तो उन्हें दोबारा जेल लौटना होगा। साथ ही, इस दौरान वे किसी भी धार्मिक सभा या सार्वजनिक आयोजन में शामिल नहीं हो सकेंगे और कोर्ट द्वारा निर्धारित सभी शर्तों का पालन करना अनिवार्य होगा।

गौरतलब है कि आसाराम को 2013 में नाबालिग छात्रा से यौन शोषण के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया गया था। 2018 में जोधपुर की अदालत ने उन्हें दोषी मानते हुए आजीवन कारावास की सजा सुनाई थी। तब से वे जेल में हैं और कई बार स्वास्थ्य कारणों से जमानत की अर्जी लगा चुके हैं।

इस बीच, हाईकोर्ट के फैसले के बाद यह मामला एक बार फिर से सुर्खियों में आ गया है। समर्थक इसे मानवीय दृष्टिकोण से दी गई राहत बता रहे हैं, जबकि कई सामाजिक संगठनों ने इस निर्णय पर नाराजगी जताई है।

फिलहाल, कोर्ट के आदेश के बाद जेल प्रशासन ने मेडिकल जमानत की औपचारिकताएं पूरी करने की प्रक्रिया शुरू कर दी है। आने वाले दिनों में आसाराम को उनके इलाज के लिए अस्पताल में शिफ्ट किया जाएगा।

Rajasthan High Court Grants 6-Month Bail to Asaram Bapu on Medical Grounds

Jaipur. Asaram Bapu, convicted of sexual assault and serving a life sentence, has received a significant reprieve from the Rajasthan High Court. The court granted him interim bail for 6 months on medical grounds.

The case was heard by a division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice (CJ) Sanjeev Prakash Sharma and Justice S.K. After hearing arguments from both sides, the court stated that Asaram's medical report indicated that he requires ongoing treatment, which cannot be provided in prison.

Senior Supreme Court advocate Devadutt Kamat and advocate Yashpal Singh Rajpurohit represented Asaram. They argued that Asaram is elderly and suffers from several serious illnesses. Due to his deteriorating health, he is required to remain hospitalized. Based on this, the court requested bail.

After reviewing all the facts and medical documents, the court granted him six months' bail. However, the court also clarified that if his health improves after the bail period, he will have to return to jail. Furthermore, during this period, he will not be able to attend any religious gatherings or public events and will be required to comply with all the conditions set by the court.

It is noteworthy that Asaram was arrested in 2013 on charges of sexually abusing a minor student. In 2018, a Jodhpur court found him guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment. He has been in jail since then and has applied for bail several times due to health reasons.

Meanwhile, following the High Court's decision, the case has once again come into the spotlight. Supporters are calling it a humanitarian relief, while several social organizations have expressed displeasure with the decision.

Currently, following the court's order, the jail administration has begun the process of completing the medical bail formalities. Asaram will be shifted to a hospital for treatment in the coming days.
