राजधानी जयपुर के हरमाड़ा इलाके में सोमवार दोपहर एक भयावह सड़क हादसे ने पूरे शहर को दहला दिया। लोहा मंडी रोड नंबर 14 पर एक ब्रेक फेल डंपर ने 300 मीटर तक कहर बरपाया, जिसमें 13 लोगों की मौत हो गई और 15 से अधिक घायल हो गए। प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों के अनुसार हादसे के बाद सड़क पर चीख-पुकार मच गई और कई वाहन मलबे में तब्दील हो गए।

जानकारी के अनुसार हादसा दोपहर करीब 1 बजे हुआ, जब डंपर खाली अवस्था में हाईवे पर चढ़ने की कोशिश कर रहा था। तभी अचानक उसका ब्रेक फेल हो गया और वह बेकाबू होकर सामने चल रहे वाहनों और राहगीरों को रौंदता चला गया। स्थानीय लोगों ने बताया कि डंपर लगभग 300 मीटर तक बेकाबू होकर 10 गाड़ियों से टकराया और करीब 50 लोगों को अपनी चपेट में ले लिया।

टक्कर के बाद डंपर एक बड़े डिवाइडर से टकराकर रुका, लेकिन तब तक सड़क पर दर्दनाक मंजर बन चुका था। आसपास के लोगों ने तुरंत पुलिस और एंबुलेंस को सूचना दी। हादसे में घायल लोगों को कांवटिया अस्पताल भेजा गया, जहां से तीन गंभीर घायलों को एसएमएस अस्पताल के ट्रॉमा सेंटर रेफर किया गया।

हादसे के बाद घटनास्थल पर अफरा-तफरी और दहशत का माहौल फैल गया। कई मृतकों के शव सड़क पर बिखरे पड़े थे, जिन्हें स्थानीय लोगों ने अपने कपड़ों और चादरों से ढककर किनारे रखा। पुलिस अधिकारियों ने बताया कि डंपर चालक को हिरासत में लेकर पूछताछ की जा रही है। प्रारंभिक जांच में यह बात सामने आई है कि ब्रेक फेल होने के कारण हादसा हुआ।
